I like how photos are immediately available to be pulled into our website. Documents are available almost immediately as well.
My least favorite thing is that assets can't have the same name as assets already in the system. It would be nice if it would automatically add a (1) or (2) after the file name, so we could still upload the photo/document.
Before using this DAM, we did not have an easy way to embed documents on our website. Now we can easily grab the embed code from the DAM.
Devops as a Cloud, I have had some good experience with Acquia DAM. One thing which I like about this software is the way it simplifies our digital asset management. For a platform, it is excellent at how organized and efficient in the way we can organize our extensive media library, making assets easy to search and use. It is especially good if we are partnering with external agency, thus improve the efficiency of our work flow. Supporting multiple formats also makes my work easier, as I deal with different types of media.
However, I've noticed some drawbacks. It does not work well when I try collaborating with other external users. At times, sharing the collections and getting feedback from clients through portals seem a bit cumbersome and this is another little drawback which acts as an obstacle and does not allow them to keep up with smooth functioning.
Regarding the problems that it resolves, Acquia DAM has been of great use to us since we now have a good way of organising and managing our digial assets. This management makes our database much more efficient for it saves us time and minimizes mistakes. It also boosts productivity of our team, so that we could be involved only in creative side of our projects.
Widen is very customizable and fits our company's needs. It is very easy to use and customer support is very responsive. Our team uses it on a daily basis to share asses internally and externally.
It would be great if the resizing feature worked better. At this time we are not using the feature because it doesn not work for us, specifically with lifestyle images.
This platform helps us store assets in a single spot for easy cross-sharing with global teams and counter parts.
We love the ability to create dynamic Portal pages. We have used this function dozens of times for sharing like assets with external audiences.
I wish we had the ability embed collections into external webpages, specific ally to be used as a photo gallery.
It is giving us a single source for hosting multimedia content for more than 25 different departments and keeping all of those groups updated with latest approved assets.
Our Widen implementation has been great so far, especially our Implementation Consultant Rachel Kohl! We are so excited to begin rolling out this dam to each of our brands for greatly improved management and reuse of assets moving forward in our LMS.
I can't really say that we have had any major downsides come up so far, but the feature I would say I like the least, or could use the most improvement, from my perspective is the dashboard messages.
Widen Collective is helping us being able to easily store and manage a massive amount of assets between several brands, add relevant metadata to those assets, and have a cleaner update process.
Widen Collective has been instrumental in the ease and speed of file organization and sharing files too our customers. It has been a positive transition for our company and a huge plus when trying to file share remotely! Definitely makes it easy when trying to send files from your phone to a customer in seconds!
I haven't found that many downsides yet. I think the biggest hurdle with integrating this software with your team, is training your team on how to use it and then letting them take the reigns to see how easy it is!
Widen is solving the problem of file sharing remotely and making it easy to share files, videos, images etc from anywhere. Before we were using dropbox and it was not easy to file share from that application.
The Acquia DAM has completely changed the way we manage our digital assets. We started out with packaging graphics, and have now expanded to multiple teams and business units, all with their own unique assets. Our DAM is heavily used every single day, and has made many improvements in the way we function in our individual roles and as teams.
I'm not sure I can find a downside to the Acquia DAM. Rarely, we might run into a particular functionality that is not available at that time. Acquia welcomes ideas and suggestions from customers, and take them seriously. Trello boards are used to keep us all informed of where they are in the process of new developments.
We make great use of both Portals and Workflow. Portals provide access to multiple members who do not need upload or edit permissions. Our Sales force can easily access the assets they need to keep our customers happy through our Sales portals. Workflow has replaced the awkward process of passing paper files and sticky notes back and forth multiple times. Our graphics approval process is now streamlined and efficient. Teams such as HR, Social Media, and others, now have quick and ease access to search for and find pertinent photos and videos for use in both internal and external communications. Historical photos and marketing materials have moved from storage boxes to the safety and searchability of our DAM. We are very proud of Johnsonville's journey from small town butcher shop to the globally loved brand we are today. Access to those historical assets helps us all connect to our roots in ways we could not before the creation of our DAM.
It's a well thought out and expansive system that can be as simple or complex as you want it to be.
It's so good that you can get hooked in forever.
Quick access to tens of thousands of assets with simple integration and export options saves me time and ensures accuracy.
Very adaptable to our needs and creative process. The ease of use both in uploading files and creating portals has been a huge time saver.
Only downsides that come to mind is the built in UI button creator/design could be improved upon to allow users more control over the look and feel.
Our image database is quite large and organized in different ways. Widen is solving this by making assets easier to sort and find across the team.

Easy to use configuration and the ease in modifying the asset groups, roles and categories. Customer service is also top notch. We had a pleasure of working with a dedicated Acquia member who helped us through all rough terrains. The user-friendly configuration facilitates easy modification of asset groups, roles, and categories. Acquia's exceptional customer service, exemplified by our dedicated representative, ensured smooth navigation through any challenges. Seamless integration with existing systems and an intuitive interface enhance operational efficiency.
Nothing as such, but one feature that would be helpful is showcasing the landing page (main page) for each user i.e what it will look like for different users with different roles / functionalities.
It is providing a centralized digital hub to store all kinds of files ranging from PDF to videos. It is a one - stop - storage for all assts for internal and external stakeholders, which is a service we needed in a long time.
