A Remote Control Software
The ease of getting connected and the options that are presented once connected. File transferring, rebooting, etc
Sometimes its overlooked by users who are using a MAC to switch to the mac download
Any user that needs remote assistance that we cannot currently remote into solves all of that issue.
Ease of use for our customers and our techs.
It's slow to check in once the agent is back on line.
It is helping us to help out customers faster.
Easy to organize and figure out. It has plenty of customizations options
The aesthetics of the menu are not to my liking, but that is my opinion.
Affordable and easy to set up and use
I can control and monitor all my computers and servers from home or work.
-Best thing is we can jump into server and machines with admin credential.
-We can batch up the machine to run similar updates on all of them at once
The Graphical User interface can be improved .
Jumping into servers and users machine to troubleshoot with their issues.
easy and reliable to use
The one click connect on any work station that works the first time every time without the need to type in codes or send links in emails.
That we were not using this product years ago.
Having it bundled with the Ncentral agent allows us to work with our hardware vendors to have it pre-installed before the devices ever reach our clients. This lets us have them give us a call and within seconds we are connected and helping them get to work.
Ease of use and how easy it is to work with a customer
I think the file transfer is a bit antiquated and could be better
When working with N-Central, this product works hand and hand.
It allows us to remotely troubleshoot our client computers.
We have been using solarwinds take control for years. Its strongest suits are staying connected even on slow internet connections and having a good set of tools while connected. My favorite tools are changing client resolution, keystroke forwarding, changing to RDP connection, and file transferring. when paired with the solarwinds dashboard and Agent, Take Control acts like a background tool that pops up when you need it. It installs quickly on new devices and has been the most reliable remote software we have ever used.
There are some features that would greatly improve the overall usefulness. Wake on Lan and better Monitor switching. There are many times in the daily workflow where a clients PC falls asleep after hours and there is no one on-site to wake it up or power it back on. I wish solar winds could integrate their WOL software directly into the dashboard, even if it automatically uses another pc on the network.
I would also like to see improvements in multi-monitor viewing. As it stands all we get is a small window to manually click between. I wish there was an option to put the monitors into separable windows and place them on my own dual monitor setup, Or move them to two smaller windows on the same screen.
Remotely supporting clients helps save on response time and cuts on travel expenses.
Installation is perfect for the end users. Very simple setup and seamless integration! All the controls that you expect like file transfer, terminal window, WOL, multi-display compatibility, etc.. Solarwinds definitely makes the best service that we've utilized on Mac devices. There's nothing that compares to how easy it is for them to install.
We've had some recent issues during Windows updates that may require a user restart their computer to get the Take Control service running, again. The online portal is goofy and it would be great if it looked like the console, which is far more functional.
Look at Take Control for software that feels like it's designed for big business, but is priced and available to the little guys. You will not be disappointed by the features and service.
We mainly use Solarwinds as our backup to our RMM solution remote connections. It's a perfectly priced addition to our RMM costs. We love that the pricing is based on technician count and not unit endpoints.
It's part of the N-able RMM package - fully accessible right from within the portal for each machine in your inventory that you enable it for. For daily use it's a simple, yet full functioning piece of the puzzle that not only affords unattended access to the desktops of machines, but also background access to perform file transfers, registry edits or give Power Shell commands.
Its switching between multiple displays on the remote end is slow and clunky. It also doesn't seem as stable in its connection quality as other more mainstream remote control applications I've used.
N-able Take Control affords easy unattended access to remote machines for support purposes. This makes "invisible" support seamless for our clients, and easy for techs.

We use the N-Able RMM, and as part of that software is the Take Control module. With a click or two, I am able to quickly and easily take over a remote system and do what I need. That has made it a breeze managing systems.
Honestly, I can't think of anything I dislike about it... It's a tool that assists me in doing my job.
It's helping me remote into systems when I need to get into them.
