Oracle Essbase is one of the most powerful business analytics solutions. One thing, I liked most about using Oracle Essbase is its flexibility & Rapid Deployment. Every day Oracle Essbase is providing new features and functionalities to the product. We could also use on-the-fly analytic models in our industry. In the Rapid deployment, Oracle Essbase doesn't take much time in installing, configuration and all, we can do it very easily in less time.

I don't dislike it. But I want a few things to be improved. The Overall UI of the application is a bit consolidated. I think it should be enhanced. And, another thing is that Oracle Essbase is not beginner-friendly to understand and execute. But if you're into the Essbase, then you should try to discover it, it would be very much profitable.

I'll highly recommend everyone, who are into the Essbase. Oracle Essbase, comes with some of the amazing power-packed features, which you must use. You can create your private VCN and connect with some on-premises data sources. Apart from this, you could also go for, creating your own team while building the product.

Some of the benefits, which I definitely like to mention are - You can easily design, manage and scale in the cloud. Sometimes, it becomes problematic for us, to deploy our applications. But, with the help of Oracle Essbase, you can easily deploy your application from multiple data sources. It is Open-Source, Scalable and very flexible.

This tool is highly scalable. It can be customized to quickly dissect small to large amounts of financial or statistical data. The capability to save premade templates and automate them is fantastic.

Macros and other excel formulas often conflict with pre-saved templates. We're also seeing excel version compatibility issues at times. The overall UI is a bit dated and very technical when something doesn't work well. It would be better if we could quickly receive error messages that display possible fixes.

They need a better front end for Essbase for users to have new "jazzy" feel

we are running our whole financial planning and analysis processes in Essbase.

we have about 20 cubes that does all kinds of variance analysis, P&L calculations, Balance Sheet reporting, Cash analysis etc.

We're using smartview to access multiple data sources and create book reports.

we have been able to pinpoint any data/$$ issues down to penny through analysis in Essbase. It has saved company lot of money overtime, when we're able to turn around our reporting and any audit queries in minutes.

Allows you to pull company financial data into Excel. It allows you to do account reconciliation, division level financial statements, all kinds of queries. It also allows various cubes within the company. You can have data sets for different operations, such as marketing and financial reporting. It is very flexible, I frequently break stuff up by division and unit.

Sometimes it crashes! That is sometimes I lose connection with the server and it makes everything in Excel freeze up. This is very frustrating.

It can take a team to implement.

Account reconciliatons, unit and division level financial statements, month/ytd comparisons, loading plan and forecasts for all businesses. Also building accounts and views which can be automatically downloaded into 10-K, 10-Q and other SEC filings. it is used by a huge number of people at our company. It is hard to imagine doing business wihtout it.

Financial planning and forecasting. We can push that down to all end users instead of having a simple excel model on one persons computer

Operations in different country and consolidating the accounts is a big issue for every globally run company. With this tool consolidation process can run as per the instructions and time period fedded.
