Very easy to use. MRP was excellent. A/P and A/R were very easy to use and balance.
I think Macola was excellent. Nothing to dislike about it.

It is very user friendly and easy to learn. I also felt that it was quick to use.
Sometimes it would crash and you would lose the information you had inputted. But what system doesn’t crash sometimes?

How quickly I can enter a journal entry.
Easy input and reconciliations. I used Exact for AP, Expense Reports and Invoices and was able to generate Checks easily and have concise monthly reports for easy reconciliations with my bank statements. There was no guessing would something go wrong as it always went smoothly as you were using it. Even with my larger applications it handled 10,000 items as easily as 100. My banking side with it was always my easiest to get to and finish quickly as it practically did everything for me once I gave it the parameters that I needed. I worked with it and updated for 6 1/2 years. One of my favorites that I used. It was a workhorse and we needed that we went from 21 to 52 centers in my time and I had 30 Centers slated for Construction in Progress that I used Access for my invoices for my Equipment Lease Loans for the Bank and Having the originals in Macola was such a huge help to me.
Compared to Sage/ Abra it was a breeze, so nothing I disliked. Our rep/trainer Jeff super nice always made us feel we were smarter than we believed ourselves to be because of our huge workload.
If you have large quantities of needs in many departments Macola can help make it easy to view and organize and use for any size business.
As I mentioned we were expanding very quickly with Doctors Offices across 4 states and I was handling all the centers Banking doing backup for AP and all the reconciliations for all Credit Cards and Pharmacy deposits. Macola made my AP, my largest account easily manageable and it took so much less time than Payroll on Sage/ABRA. that was 1/2 again as many items. I was in Access so much longer to do half the work as Macola. It's a Powerhouse of Possibilities!
It is very easy to fetch data of the customers as well as items
I like everything. Each and every functions are very good, so doesn't matter the dislikes.
It's a genius application for an order management company

Speed, reliability, zero bugs or issues in 10 years of use
Maybe a bit unintuituve for new users, steep learning curve at first but perfect after that.

Reporting for new years when old years hadn't been officially closed was always a little tricky.
It's a good program. It will handle a lot of data. I was able to generate a lot of useful information from the Macola database.

No shortcuts yes its simple but if we compare this with SAP not t code type shortcut keys available here

Easy to search for companies in your database, easy to find past transactions, either by customer, PO#, or item purchased. Easy to find inventory location and quantities. Purchase Order looks professional and is easy to create.
May just be our system, but costs from Sales order often don't transfer to Purchase Order. Can be tough to enter quantities and add new inventory to system.
Make sure you don't modify it so much that you can't use updates as they happen. We modified it so much that we can't use the updates.
Solving: maintaining multiple inventory locations and keeping a history of parts ordered by customer.
Good Workflow automation with personalized workspaces and a v7ariety of customer support services
Unfortunately it has limited APIs for third-party cloud services with little to no means to cost inventory items.

The ease of the complete system. I liked the fact you can restrict a user from buttons and models. The grouping was very easy to use. Training was very easy and creating procedures and flow charts were nice. You could use a user defined field, add it to the screen and to a form and create a report for it as well.
Needs more used defined fields. Their is nothing really bad about the Macola system
