Infracost is a new open-source tool designed to reduce cloud costs. Using the app you can integrate it into your CI/CD pipeline to make infrastructure changes as a code file and create a pull/merge request.Measure the expenses of pull requests and peer review with code. The programme is designed for developers and small and medium businesses.Its vast list of features includes – Cost Visibility, using which before any resources are launched, Infracost scans for Terraform code modifications and analyses over 3 million pricing to provide a clear, understandable cost estimate. It directly integrates into the developer’s workflow so everyone knows the cost impact of changes without leaving the workflow. One of its most essential features is that of its cloud cost policies and guardrails - Infracost interfaces with Open Policy Agent, Sentinel, and Conftest to allow DevOps teams to create policies based on best practices.They also provide the ability of scenario modelling and what-if analysis using which the software automatically creates detailed, shareable cost estimates which can be sent to clients and managers with different scenarios.
