Campaign setup is much easier and faster than the legacy Acuity platform. Illumin is less buggy and more responsive. Exceptional customer service as well. Would definitely recommend as a solution for small ad agencies.
Loss of the ability to target a specific video player size. Loss of ability to optimize towards multiple image pixel conversions with a CPA goal. Loss of ability to see impression delivery by tactic at a glance within the campaign. Lack of reporting on date ranges greater than 1 year is also a pain point.

The best thing i like about illumin is it's user friendly interface. It's so much convinenet as compared to google and facebook.
Apart from this, service wise the best thing that i like about it is the budget optimization in it. I can optimize multiple creative types and multiple types of targetings in a single campaign, instead of creating new campaign for each thing.
The least helpful thing i would say will be the audience poll.
Although it's big enough right now, but still i would like it to grow even more, so that we can have a broad audience and more options to target the specific audience.
The most significant update that helped is the time delay pixel introduction, it has helped to optimize the campaigns on the bases of the people who are spending more time on the landing page. With that data we can now target look-alike audience and it can help improve the results as well.

What I like most about Ilumin is its no nonsense approach to campaign building , just the basic setup the creative and its ready to go, not unlike some other platforms where you have to do several steps before hand like uploading tags in a separate window and so on.
The downside of using Ilumin is as well in its simplicity it is based for people who are starting on programmatic buying so for people who have used other platforms some of the choices can be just not enough, like the options for brand safety it could benefit from having the whole showcase, but in the end is nothing that affects my decision to use the platform.
It solves my need to have a programmatic solution to offer my clients that need more specification in their targetting instead of broad. It also helps me control where and where not are my ads showing.
