It's a tool that can be tailored to any project

PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

The aspect of this product that I liked the most is how I can customize it so that it works perfectly for the project I may be using it for. Because of how customizable it is, I don't have to work with multiple tools and can just focus on this instead.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

While I really appreciate how customizable it is, it looks like multiple customizations slow down the software. I also found it tedious to have to upgrade all the customizations every time the tool had to be upgraded.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

With this tool, we've been able to come up with an accounting system that manages contacts, as well as produce reports and timesheets. I was also able to save time because their planning module is consolidated and integrated. Our company has also started using it for project planning and it has been a great help to us so far.

Keeps me and my colleagues working efficiently

PROS: The environment is fairly easy to manipulate. Everything is just within reach—from the data that I input all the way to the reports that I generate from it.

CONS: Maybe this owes to my overcrowded database, but it can be difficult to retrieve data from my earlier transactions

Data is easily searchable. It is easy to use. Report generation feature is good.

PROS: With Deltek Vision, I can open three databases at the same time. One can have timesheets up with projects information and employee data online simultaneously. I do not have to switch apps and log in or out. Furthermore, pulling up the information is very easy. You can also filter data. The information pulled up can have permission restrictions. It helps keep your data safe. Before switching to Vision we have used another program for our database. Good thing that Vision can access them.

CONS: If I can remember correctly, there is a steep learning curve. There are many ways to pull up information and different filters. Adequate training time is required for an individual. So, when first switching to Vision, businesses need to keep this in mind and have training sessions for users.

Can’t imagine work without this

PROS: My business has been running smoothly since I tried Deltek Visions in our operations, its got all the modules I need for my projects, from company records to proposals, this software has it all down to the last detail. I can’t imagine doing work without this, it literally took off the load off my shoulders.

CONS: I think the software needs to get an update, there are a few glitches that require attention

"All In One, Easy To Use"

What do you like best?

It's very user friendly, and is all that we need to run our business in one program.

It isn't compatible with Google Chrome, only Internet Explorer.

Vision helps our company capture data accurately for use on future opportunitues.

Some of the better modules (e.g., CRM) are not vost effective for a smaller size company.

We can customize our project data to include valuable content for prospective clients, such as challenges we have faced on prior projects and the solutions we have provided to project owners.

"Easy Way of Managing Company Info"

What do you like best?

I like that I get to make batches of information for time sheets, invoices, accounting, and alot more.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it glitches up. But, it holds alot of information so that may be why

Ask alot of questions and read directions fully it can get confusing.

Error codes with the accounting batches, and the benefits are I can learn more and more each time I use vision. I learn more about the company every time I open it and browse around.

"Mange time and record what is being done."

What do you like best?

Deltek Vision is a very useful program with inputting your time sheets for billing. Our company uses deltek since we input what project we are billing to, what task we were doing, and if it was direct time or indirect time used. It also forces the user to input a comment explaining what they did during this time. This has been very useful with keeping track of what someone was doing for a project. Deltek also stores information of projects and clients, and can also be used for expenses. There is much more that Deltek does but these are the tasks I primarily use with it.

What do you dislike?

In all honesty there isn't much I can think of that is bad with the product besides the start up time. It will take about a minute to fully open your time sheet which isn't much of an issue to me.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping track of time and where tasks are being billed too are super easy and efficient. Also being able to look up past project codes to review is pretty convenient.
