Easy to work on files, share files, secure environment

Datto Workplace was very easy to deploy to over 30 workstations. We just used the admin account to send out invite links to all of the users, and then sent them a few short instructions on installing the software and moving their files into the cloud-protected folder.

We had a really hard time migrating data from old servers. Quite a few clients needed to move away from physical servers and wanted their files on Datto Workplace, but moving terabytes of files into the cloud was a little tricky with the latest version of the software. My team ended up finding the trick to doing this, is to install the older version, which allowed you to point to an existing folder and sync that. (The new version creates a folder in which you had to drag the files into, but it capped out at syncing 25GB at a time or something like that. My use last use was early summer 2021, so updates may be in place now.)

Datto Workplace is a great option for anyone considering migrating their files away from a physical server. If you also want to give your office the flexibility of a hybrid work environment this is a great option. I have not personally tried DropBox Professional, so I only know how this product compares to DropBox Personal license, and Datto Workplace blows it out of the water. The best part about Datto as a company is that they've always had top-notch customer support. You can call in and get a live rep in minutes, and every single one I ever talked to was very well trained.

I used Datto Workplace from around 2018 to 2021 at my previous employer. We helped many local businesses go from physical servers to Datto Cloud Storage. This eliminated their need to replace and maintain a physical server in perpetuity and eliminated the costs thereof. It also eliminates the risk of physical drive failures.

I like the fact that I can compartmentalize the files I need along with my colleagues while sharing files.

The only cumbersome thing with Datto is on my computer, I'm often asked to log back in.

It seems that once files are deleted they're gone for good unlike on a computer where they go into a "recycle bin"

We're solving the problems of having duplicate files. Everyone can access the same digital files and we can keep some things private from eachother depending on our needs.

I love that everyone can have access to the same documents and we are able to tell if someone else has that document open. If two people happen to open the same document at the same time it saves both versions so you can look at them and decide which is the most updated version to keep.

It does cause some problems when 2 people open the same document. If it is a spreadsheet with multiple pages it can take quite some time to figure out which version is the correct and updated version of the file.

We have multiple offices and several people that need access to the same documents and files. This makes it super easy for everyone to be able to access everything at the same time without having to duplicate work. It makes it very easy for one person to start a project, save it, and have another person pick up where the first left off.

Love how quickly we can store files online with quick access. Even when you do not have your computer/laptop, you can still get to the files with their website.

When updating the software, sometime Datto will not recognize your folder that you bind to the account. But fixing this can be easy.

If you ever in need of a cloud-based storage, Datto is a great option. With easy upload and download for your files. Can setup multiple computer for easy access. Can add password when sending links to externally.

Autotask Workplace has been a great tool. We use it to push all of our customer data to the cloud in order to our techs to be able to get the information from anywhere. We then all installed the agent on our PCs so that we could easily manipulate the files on our PCs. Their online portal is super easy to use and provides additional options for your files like sharing with another person or locking a file when its in use. This is also the place where you would create other customers accounts and user accounts as well as setup a company wide share if you wanted to. This tool has simply just worked for us and we recommend it to all of our customers.

The app for your phone is super slow and many people have complained about it

This really made a difference in our IT department because it made sharing the information we need fast and easy to do.

I have used Autotask workplace for several years and its ability to provide security for all the users, and databases and endpoint is great.

There is nothing that I can think of right now about Autotask Workplace that I don't like., It's beneficial to almost every aspect of my job.

We were able to become HIPAA compliant with the help of Datto and Autotask Workplace and from there. able to grow our bottom line by 31%.

I like the ability to acutely control all files and projects at a user level.

I've had a single syncing issue that I've not experienced with any other cloud storage solution.

Do your research and make sure that Auatotask Workplace isn't more than you actually need. This platform has a pretty granular level of file sharing and security.

We don't have a centralized server infrastructure in my current company, but Autotask Workplace fills that need perfectly.

Linking assets, contacts, tickets, and scheduling is a breeze.

Having the same contact email for multiple companies makes their ticket responses show as internal notes, but autotask is working on it.
