I started a trial on Clockify two weeks…

I started a trial on Clockify two weeks ago together with Plaky. I was apprehensive due to mixed reviews, especially regarding customer service. As a bit of a technophobe and very busy working too I was keen to have something simple.
I would say to someone who has time to sit and play, it’s is likely very simple but for me getting to grips with it whilst scoffing down a sandwich, I did test out the customer service. The chap 'Ivan’ I initially spoke to on a video call has answered my initial set up questions swiftly but the chat with an agent is great too. I’ve chatted to them most lunch times. I have my whole team set up on Plaky and Clockify and it’s working well. The one thing I did ask for is to be able to customise status as I have a long list in my ‘to do ‘ to wade through before getting to ‘in progress’.

Best time tracking App!

I'm a big fan of clockify and have been using it for more than half a year with growing enthusiasm. It comes with all the features I need and is designed in a user-friendly, intuitive and even aesthetic way. It works on all platforms and devices: Windows, Mac, android, iPhone and offers export-functions for all time entries as excel-files. It's a great help for efficiently registering my working time on different projects and tasks and analyzing it. A positive side effect for me is that I work in a more focused and organized way. The developers are super friendly! I'm very fond of their app and I'm carefully nudging my colleagues to start using clockify. :)

"Detailed and real-time control"

What do you like best about Clockify?

Detailed real-time information on time worked, costs and billing. Grouped by projects, roles, and work groups according to what I needed.

What do you dislike about Clockify?

It does not have the option to manage overhead separately from rate cost.

What problems is Clockify solving and how is that benefiting you?

To know what the employees are doing, what projects they are working on, how much the work costs and how much I can bill.

I use clockify as a freelancer to track my hours, project burn, create monthly reports and generate invoices.

The platform is simple, with no frills, but that's why I like it. They are adding new features constantly.

"A vital tool for managing projects and time"

What do you like best about Clockify?

Clockify has a very user-friendly interface, which is what I find most appealing. I can keep effective control over my daily duties without wasting time on laborious procedures thanks to the swift and simple time recording feature that lets me allocate hours to particular projects.

What do you dislike about Clockify?

I think there are now some restrictions on how flexible the reports that are created can be. More possibilities to filter and personalize the reports to my own requirements would be nice.

What problems is Clockify solving and how is that benefiting you?

Accurate accounting of hours spent is ensured by the time tracking tool, which facilitates client billing and team performance evaluation. Furthermore, the capacity to allocate certain rates to projects enhances the clarity and precision of billing.

"Be Productive with Clockify!"

What do you like best about Clockify?

Clockify is the best way to track time. I love that I can put exactly what I am doing during my day so that if there are any questions, my supervisor can look at my clockify. I also love that I can make adjustments myself as I am not the best at clocking in and out from breaks.

What do you dislike about Clockify?

Honestly, I can't think of anything that I truly dislike about this software. I never have any issues with using it. It is always available when I need it and have really never had any issues.

What problems is Clockify solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main problem we have been solving is just the simply question of "What did you work on today?" I feel like I am more productive because I am tracking my time by exactly what I am doing.

EDIT: I received an email reply from the report staff, and it was my VPN provider causing the issues, not Clockify. The original review remains for historical purposes.

It's 2023. If you are not using a VPN on a regular basis, you just don't care that your data is being sold to lower your bill. And if you don't care that your data is sold and later de-anonymized, I honestly don't have anything to say you about when you're living. About what time in human history we're discussing.

But I did not expect to have this conversation with Clockify. In fact, I have to disconnect from my VPN to log in, clock-in, or clock-out. I have no idea why they would do this. Are bad actors out there pretending to be me, using VPN settings to impersonate me, to clock-in and -out of my projects? How much money are they making doing this?

In my opinion, having to turn off my VPN before interacting with Clockify -- a site that I am supposed to be able to access as a digital nomad in the first place -- exposes my data unwillingly to my provider, smells like collusion of some kind, is a throw-back to 2010, and is worth only about two stars.
