BPMN Support, Ease of Use, Developer Friendly, Process Visualization
High Cost of Enterprise Edition, Steep Learning Curve, Limited UI Customizability, Lackluster SaaS Mode
Camunda is widely praised for its powerful BPMN engine, enabling users to model and automate complex business processes. Users appreciate its developer-friendly approach, robust integration capabilities, and its ability to speed up time-to-market for solutions. However, some reviewers note a steep learning curve and complexity, particularly with version 8. Concerns also exist regarding limited support for customized user interfaces and the cost of the enterprise version. Overall, Camunda is seen as a versatile and robust platform for process orchestration, but requires a dedicated effort to master its intricacies.

The products have been running smoothly in production so far.
There's nothing I don't like at the moment.
We run a lot of our prozesses on camunda and can evaluate them and thus strive for improvement
It provides in terms of developing custom plugins. There are workarounds available in the meantime. Its also impressive to see that Camunda is constantly working on providing migration solutions.
The task list doesnt allow associating candidate groups with an LDAP, which is a hindrance when building workflows.
Camunda is improving process transparency within our organization. It allows us to have an overview of our business processes allowing us not to identify bottlenecks.
Flexible and easy to use. Every new version has new functionaltites. Reactive on the forums and on the support. We're iintegrating Camunda in all of our processes and we are expecting a high return on investment in our time to market. Implementing processes in Camunda is very simple and the BPMN standard allows for a common field between the BA and DEV teams.
Using Camunda changes the mindset of process development in a company. These changes are generally difficult to be accepted by business or security teams.
a better process management and a faster process development
The simplicity of Rules engine in plain English, that makes the learning, maintainability curve easy. The implementation is easy as well. I have been using Camunda Rules for over 3 years now, and we were able to combine around 4200K of rules in 3 DMNs , and reduce the TTB and TTV by 1 month.
I would like to see features like excel, json import export.
We have a product that shows recommendations to user based on user inputs, and there are 4200K possible combinations leading to different recommendations with different scores. I was able to solve this problem by putting all of the cases in rules engine making it easy to maintain and understand.
speed, scalability, resilinecy. Newer features
feature parity between 7 and 8, Camunda 8 is not as par with 7 features
Camunda manages all our processes and helps us scale them as required
Ease of creating the Business Process Orchestration.
Relational Database Dependency is there for Camunda
To orchestrate the complete Business Process and manage the business fallouts.
Doesn't matter who you are in a company, and do you know what Camunda is, you can always tell what the process is for and where are the instances.
No easy way to change global job retry count
It helps creating processes that include many steps and you always can tell at what point every process is
It is very developer friendly and has good support and active Community.
Low support for customized end user User Interfaces.
As workflow and decision engine fully supporting BPMN and DMN, it helps to minimize the gap between business and IT, because we can easily use the business processes for implementation.
And the tools of camunda give a good insight into running and historical workflows.
What I like best is how easy it is to allign business and IT views, although it requires some educational steps beforehand.
Not really about Camunda but surely makes it lose value is it's common misusage as per when the processes mingle with other scopes that are not business (example: conversational workflows).
Rastreability.
