I have been working with 1C for 10 years and I can say that 1C:Enterprise is a powerful, easy-to-use software that allows for rapid development of business processes. It's cross-platform and compatible with mobile and web, making it easy to code and run programs on various devices. The platform's extensions allow for new features to be developed for customers without affecting the core program. Additionally, the platform offers prebuilt components such as Accounting and Accumulation registers, making it ideal for business software development. The platform also offers an open-source system which makes it easy to control and modify the software. Based on my experience with users the user interface is simple to navigate and requires minimal skills for them to get started. Overall, the speed of development, ease of use, and flexibility make 1C:Enterprise a great choice for businesses.

The platform has a small community of users and developers which can make it difficult to find solutions to problems. The IDE and CI/CD capabilities lag behind peers and there is no free version of the platform or configurations for developers.

At first sight it may look like it is not the ideal fit for companies outside of CIS, but despite initial issues, it is a good idea to try it out and don't hesitate to invest in it with the help of professionals.

1C:Enterprise helps me automate business processes for the clients, including ERP, accounting, and document management. It offers cross-platform capabilities, ready-made solutions and integration with other systems, and it makes the development process more efficient and cost-effective, enabling me to create custom solutions for the clients in various industries.

As company globally using SAP the topic was required implementation of ERP for subsidiary within less than 4 months. The IT department mentioned that it's impossible to do this with SAP and so the project manager was looking for another possibility be in time. The previous idea was to implement SAP and 1C only for HR and accountant but based on the lack of time 1C get a chance for presentation of the whole functionality. The result was amazing as PM estimate that 1C:ERP will cover about 80% of requierements in standard and also implementation can be in time.

In 2014 1C:ERP was not available in other languages than Russian so for west European partners, presentation was not too simple. For good luck !C goes international since some time.

Of course, if you need ERP for CIS 1C is a must. But much more it's a rapid development tool with powerful functionality. If you are looking for an ERP solution simple to customize and with many modules included I expect 1C also provide the right solution for you - also abroad CIS with a simple possibility to localize.

The goal was the rapid implementation and the interfaces to the leading SAP solution.

The best thing about 1C is that everything comes out of the box. You have all the resources you need to run a commercial business right from the get go. Because of that everything runs smoothly since every side of the product that 1C gives was developed in consideration of other tools.

Sometimes it's hard to know where you have a mistake in your program and it's also hard to know how to deal with itm because the 1C community is not big if compared to other tech products on the market. Still there are websites where you can post your question and find an answer. People are willing to help you on your 1C journey and that's great!
