- I like that I can move around this tool very quickly. Just one shortcut to rule them all and that is /
- This tool is good at helping you get the job done
- It is not slow.
- It is not clunky.
- No need to set up configurations
- No big learning curve.
- Great support team
- No public APIs
- No mobile app yet.
- Integrations are there, but we want more powerful integrations. They told me this is coming soon.
If you need a tool that is light and does its job, Zepel is great. It currently does not have full fledged integrations, but I've been seeing some early mock ups from the team and I believe it is coming soon. If you are someone who needs tighter integrations, it is just a matter of few weeks I believe. Other than that, this is great!
We use Zepel within our org and team to:
1. See what others are working on.
2. See the progress of specific teams.
3. To plan what to do next.
4. To keep everyone updated and in sync of all the updates
The paper interface and intuitive shortcuts.
The lack of full API support and third party integrations.
Developers hate JIRA. It's clunky and it gets in their way and there's a steep learning curve. Zepel solves these pain points beautifully.
It worked well for the API module within chargebee which follows both a sprint and kanban model for different cycles. The product is slick and responsive. The Zepal team is diligent on support. Overall it's a very pleasant experience using Zepel.
Simple, easy, no jargon, straight forward tool which even developers love. As a developer, it has always been hard to use project management software. Usually PM tools are complex, heavily process oriented and a scary place. I didn't feel any of these thing while using Zepel. Love using it. I have been using it to log my user stories and break it down to tasks. The structure and breakdown helps me to estimate better. Once that is done we have being using Sprints along with board to execute. All of these happens seamlessly.
There is nothing yet to capture task dependencies. I am currently working around this using sub tasks. Also any API would be nice. Will be easy to integrate with our tools.
If you are looking for a developer friendly PM tool, look no further.
I am trying to manage my feature and backlog. Planning and executing features are seamless in Zepel. Love the boards, document and sprint combination.
Love that Zepel has an interface like a document, is simple to use, and has all the functionalities you need to track your work. As an organization it is important for us to work together with multiple teams. Zepel lets you have multiple Boards within a Project and give a Board for each team. This allows us to track work in every team, handover work from one team to another, and complete our work on time effortlessly.
We would like to have the capability for time tracking. That is missing in this tool. Hoping this would come soon.
At least if we they provided public API we can use that to integrate to third party services. When contacted, they said API is currently being developed. So, I'm hoping this will get solved.
This is a great tool if you want to do more than just task tracking. It allows you to track progress in specific teams and even track your development as a whole. Be sure to give it a try properly and go through their product guide. They are very helpful to get started.
We use Zepel to plan features, work with members from multiple teams, and collaborate cross functionally. This allows to see who is doing what, what a specific team is working on, and track the progress as a whole. And most importantly, we get to spend time focusing our time doing our work instead of learning the tool.
Zepel makes it super easy for us to both plan our work (thanks to their simple, document like interface) and easy to track the work with Kanban Board. We assign tasks to team members, have conversations, share attachments, and track the progress of each task with Zepel itself effortlessly.
I wish there was a way time tracking feature. Right now this isn't a mandatory for us, but would be nice to have this as a feature. It would help us track more effectively.
Zepel is easy to use and quick to implement. If you need help the team is usually online and quick to respond. Play around with the app first before you bring in your team members.
We keep track of who is doing what and track its progress. Zepel makes it easy to collaborate with anyone and get the work done.
This tool has all the necessary functionalities one would need in order to plan and keep track of their development efforts. It isn't cumbersome to set up which is a huge advantage. Our team adopted the tools quickly because of this and it has been smooth to use throughout.
The feature progress view is great because it allows us to have a roadmap of what we need to build and track the progress of the entire feature across multiple teams.
There were a couple of glitches that we ran into, but they got sorted out pretty quickly when we reached out to their support.
All in all, I'm impressed and extremely happy with the tool.
It'd be great if there was a way to set dependencies between different user stories and tasks. The tool currently lacks this. Rather than enforcing a rigid dependency, at least being able to see that one user story is dependent on another would be great.
If you are looking for a PM tool that gets out of your way and allows you to do what you do best - write code and build great products - then Zepel is the tool for you.
We are currently using Zepel to keep track of our product development efforts. We plan and spec features using their document interface. Then the designers, QA, and developers are brought onboard to kickstart the development. We use Sprints to track the progress of them.
Creating a new project and adding the required members is pretty simple. Assigning tasks and tracking them is pretty straight forward and neat. Insights and analytics shown on the dashboard are useful, and it contains all the necessary info and it's pretty handy to track multiple projects.
Role management of users tagged to a project could be improved.
If you're looking for a hassle free project management tool for a compact team and you want to set up project boards and tasks almost instantaneously then Zepel would be the best fit.
We needed a tool that's not heavyweight as JIRA and at the same caters our need. Zepel was the best fit for the kind of project we had where we wanted to set up things faster in terms of project management.
This tool makes it easy to manage our project and see the progress in every team. This allows me to keep track of the progress in specific teams and as a whole. Our teams can easily collaborate and handover work.
Waiting for public APIs. But I've been told it is coming out soon.
If you are looking to switch to Zepel, make sure you play with the tool first. Once you've understood the tool, make sure your team is ready to switch to a new tool. If you need any help, the team is very helpful. You can reach out to them using the in app chat tool
We use Zepel to plan our products, work with teams, and track its progress in different teams.
I've been using this as a freelancer for a few months now with a couple of clients and have found Zepel to be a good product with lots of potential. There have been a few small issues as it's a new product but the developers have been very responsive and open to honest feedback.
Currently the mobile experience is a bit poor. Not so bad for me, but a client who is usually working in the field has commented that they prefer to wait until they are back at a laptop.
I'm using it as drop in replacement for more heavy weight project management tools, for my use-cases Zepel is ideal. (Small projects with 3 or 4 collaborators)
