"Smallwood Review of Workspot"
What do you like best about Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud?

With a small IT Staff we were struggling to keep up with the demands of end users day to day tasks and managing our VDI environment. Workspot has taken the VDI load off our hands and has made it a simple process to spin up new users. This has allowed out department to focus more and provide better support without adding staff

What do you dislike about Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud?

The migration with Azure and meraki vpn was a little difficult, but Workspot was great in assisting with the setup.

Recommendations to others considering Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud:

Workspot has simplified to process of setup and deployment of VM's, creating an easy to use environment. We have been working with Workspot for more than 3 years, and they have been an extremely dependable partner.

What problems is Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

Prior to implementation of workspot we struggled with the skill set needed to maintain a VDI environment consistently having the stretch the IT Dept. By implementing Workspot, we are now able to easily manage the environment, which in turn has improved our response time to other end-user issues.

The current Pandemic has allowed us to realize the actual benefits of Workspot. We transitioned our staff from primarily in office to 100 % at home and didn't skip a beat. I have talked to many firms that took weeks to transition with full functionality, where even a few end-user issues had everyone producing within a couple of days.

"Complication solution delivered simply"
What do you like best about Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud?

The solution solves a complicated implementation of VDI without a significant upfront investment in an on-premise solution that may or may not work. It allows you to scale infinitely.

What do you dislike about Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud?

There are currently some infrequent graphic errors on the GPU side using the AMD GPU, but like most newer cloud solutions, it will get resolved, and its performance will improve with time and adoption.

Recommendations to others considering Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud:

Start with a trial group and a small subscription base, then grow into the solution once you've validated the platform and have buy-in from the user base.

What problems is Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

First had we implemented this solution pre-covid, it would have been a huge time saver for 100+ persons on the design side. Our team can now collaborate and work from anywhere with huge files and zero transfer issues.

"VDI Desktops that are easy to deploy and administer"
What do you like best about Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud?

Workspot allows our IT department to be as hands-on or hands-off as we need to be when maintaining the VDI environment. The implementation process was well thought out and went smoothly. Performance of the VDI desktops exceeds that of the previous VDI environment we had on premise. Allowing Workspot to take care of the underlying VDI infrastructure has really helped our IT department focus on support end-users as opposed to supporting infrastructure.

What do you dislike about Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud?

Hardware specifications of the VDI machines is limited to the pre-built vms offered by Azure. Some more advanced tasks like resizing the OS drive on an already deployed VM cannot be done using the Control Panel and must be done by the support staff.

What problems is Workspot - Enterprise Desktop Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were getting results of poor performance for remote workers on our aging, on-premise VDI platform. Moving to Workspot has virtually elimiated all VDI performance troubleshooting requests and has also allowed our team to focus on providing end-user support instead of monitoring and maintaining an on-premise VDI platform.

"Systems operations manager for mid size law firm"
What do you like best?

End user ease of use, straight forward connection processes. Simplified backend management, there are not a lot of moving pieces to manage from Workspot control and the ones that are there are the ones used everyday. if you want to get into the weeds you can always jump over to your Azure subscription for further analysis and troubleshooting. Engineering support during setup and onboarding was great, didn't have to wait long to get answers to questions and solutions to problems. As a result on going support has been minimal but there when needed.

What do you dislike?

When connection issues do arise, which hasn't been often, we have to rely on end user to upload logs and such to support. Would be nice if some of that information was uploaded automatically to control, when possible.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

As with any solution all use case are not covered. We have run across a few instances where Workspot was not the optimal solution from a technical and/or cost basis, but those are the exceptions. With that being said as Workspot continues to improve services/cost, some of those exceptions might go away.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

A simple VDI solution that is flexible period!!!

"Workspot has a premier DaaS service with great support throughout the process."
What do you like best?

We utilize Workspot for full Desktop systems on multiple occasions. The build and deployment of a gold image is simple and easy to set up. We've built them within the Workspot environment and uploaded a VHD file on separate occasions and both were easy to do. The console has nearly everything you need right at your fingertips. The computers are fast an powerful, all of our users had no problem transitioning from a performance perspective. The offerings of Nvidia powered graphics capable systems for CAD/Solid Modeling programs makes it a great pick for even the most power hungry programs.

The support by the Workspot technical teams is top notch. Always responsive, with a useful answer. Always ready to jump in and help. Never once did I feel like my questions were beneath them. Always happy to jump in and work together to resolve issues.

What do you dislike?

Though the console has everything you need it could use some improvement in navigation. Occasionally I find myself hunting around for a particular item. The Active Directory connection can be a bit fiddly at first. But once it's syncing nicely there are no issues.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you're using a full desktop build the computer in the Workspot environment directly it's much easier.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It provides an always on desktop accessible from anywhere. When Covid hit and everyone had to work from home there was zero disruption to the workflow. With the Workspot systems and an Azure cloud architecture, zero days were lost in the transition for office work to work from home.

"Perfect for our small remote offices."
What do you like best?

Consolidating my smaller offices into one.

What do you dislike?

The cost of the GPU Workstation. Hope the fractional GPU become available soon.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure you don't undersize your machines, because the users will know. Google Earth doesn't work unless you have a GPU. Check your latency to the Microsoft datacenter. Low latency will kill the experience.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

No need to have server onsite and can consolidate many small offices into a larger "Workspot Office in the Cloud"
