It allows you address concerns concerns in real time with a large fleet that is not possible with person-person touchpoints
I cannot wait for WorkHound to have an App that I can manage my dashboard on my phone
Just lets my drivers vent and possibly show frustrations that are easily solvable instead of losing that driver
WorkHound has so many benefits it's hard to single out what is best. The platform is straightforward for drivers to use, you get instant feedback, it is anonymous (so you know you are getting honest & open communication), and the website is highly user-friendly.
It would be helpful to determine if the feedback comes from a new employee or someone who has been with the company longer. Knowing how often the user has left feedback would also be beneficial.
We need to know what our drivers are thinking. WorkHound gives us instant insight. Monthly surveys or exit surveys don't capture problems as they are happening. WorkHound solves that problem.
Dollar for dollar, it's the best retention tool I have seen. The real time feedback helps to get to the core of the issues much quicker and drivers can see an active response from our management team.
I can't think of any downsides to it. Overall, it's a solid product.
They are a big reason why we're able to keep a low driver turnover. Less turnover means we don't have to hire as many drivers to keep up with customer needs.
I love the unique way that Workhound partners with us to help us become a better employer each week to our drivers than we were the week before. Workhound is an active and engaged partner in developing our business by prioritizing those who do the heaviest lifting.
The only downside is if you are unable to hear any negative feedback, because opening yourself up to feedback means it will not all be positive. But I think to be successful, you have to get comfortable being uncomfortable, and Workhound has been there every step of the way through the conditioning period and well beyond it.
Driver Turnover - Reducing our turnover by helping us be better listeners and helping us become proactive problem solvers.
What I like best about Workhound is the drivers can report anonymously. This allows them to not hold back with fear of backlash from commenting. Also, the simplicity of the database makes things quick to review.
The only thing I dislike is not being able to control the reveals better. I want to resolve their issue's, but without a reveal makes me feel as though I cannot fix the issue for the driver. With the notify function, that has made it better so we can at least respond something back. I also dislike I didn't find them sooner.
The Workhound tool should be the standard for the Transportation industry. The truck is a lonely place for a driver, all they do is think. If we do not grasp issues as soon as possible, the driver will ponder their unhappiness and eventually quit. Workhound gives the the anonymous feedback to relieve the drivers stresses, and keep the company advised so we can resolve before they quit.
Workhound has improved my workload by giving me a simplified tool to resolve driver problems. We used to just randomly call drivers and ask how things were going, but I feel as though they feared to answer. We are getting truth now, unmatched by any personal phone call we could make. Thus improving our turnover.
Calhoun Truck Lines is a current user of WorkHound, and it has been very helpful in managing the weekly communications to our fleet, and for the anonymous feedback that we receive in order to remedy any driver concerns as they arise. Maintaining anonymity of the submissions is vital to ensuring candid feedback, and that's where the growth occurs as a company. Mark Ellers has also been a very excellent and professional point of contact. He has gone above and beyond in helping CTL understand the insights generated by the WorkHound platform. On our weekly calls, Mark is always attentive to our needs as an intermodal trucking company and always offers timely and prompt assistance whenever we need to develop our broadcasts and any additional ad-hoc messaging to be pushed out to the fleet, and I want to be sure to document Calhoun's appreciation for the hard work he has done for the company.
As I have mentioned before, I wish that the main dashboard page would show a little more data visualization at a glance instead of having to enter a side page to find that data. Adding additional one-time notification prompts would allow a more broad ability to quickly respond to concerns that we don't have an answer for at that point in time.
As a member of a corporate home office team, it's impossible to be everywhere at all times with respect to our drivers. WorkHound has allowed us, as the corporate office, to create a secure channel to receive any concerns or praises that drivers have. It's as simple as seeing the comment, and taking a screenshot snippet of it to the applicable management team, and we begin to address the concern. Once a response has been crafted, I will send that response to the driver and give them my contact information should they choose to reach out for a further dialogue about that issue. WH is great if you're looking for a platform that gives you an "ear-to-the-ground."
Finding out safety problems as they arise at the terminals. (ex. supplies, wood planks, truck parking areas) Having WorkHound acts as a proverbial ear to the ground with drivers' concerns on a daily basis. Having a more open dialogue with drivers and addressing valid constructive criticisms allows us to grow and come to a better understanding of the professional work relationship that we keep with our company drivers and independent contractors.
I love that we are able to quickly get a pulse on how our drivers are feeling about our company any given week, and that we get suggestions for change that we know our drivers will actually appreciate.
I don't like when someone won't reveal and allow us to help them.
We are better hearing the frustrations our drivers are facing that we can either better explain the reasoning for those processes, or takes steps to improve. Many times, we take steps that our drivers suggest as a solution!
The ease of interaction for the drivers, the timeliness of weekly check ins, and the relationships with the support staff.
I haven't experienced any downsides of using WorkHound.
We are demonstrating to our drivers that we care about their happiness. We are solving issues that we might not have known about in the past, and we are seeing that we have a pretty happy workforce overall.
The tool has evolved and changed as we identified needs and had requests for new features. The team is very responsive to customer recommendations.
Using anonymous feedback is a learning curve.
As the primary user, I am committed to it and to learning.
But continually convincing and training leaders in our organization is the challenge.
If you're not getting formal employee feedback, you don't know what's really going on in your organization.
If you only get quarterly survey data, it's not as good as regular feedback.
WorkHound allow for various means of communication. It's easy for the employee and the company admin.
Management saw how selecting a specific fuel stop impacts Drivers, so we made changes accordingly.
Our IT Team thought the eLog was working properly, but through WorkHound, we learned what the Driver is seeing and we were able to tackle the problem easily.
We're hearing atta-boys for Dispatchers and others who are performing well. These help with morale company-wide.

WorkHound allows for direct feedback from your workforce. An unwavering commitment to user anonymity, with a path for open communication.
I struggle to identify a negative about the platform. No system is perfect, & there are features that I would like to see added. That said, WorkHounds dashboard doesn't have any features that are of no use to me.
WorkHound is a tool. Like any other tool, it is excellent at its intended task, providing its user(s) are utilizing it properly. WorkHound, in my eyes, is a force multiplier in the realm of employer/employee engagement & communication. I would not be able to speak with 500 or 1,000 employees weekly with any meaningful impact. With WH I can hear from those with something to say this week while keeping an open line for everyone.
