Ease of use for our grant applicants, reviewers, and grant winners and fast and reliable assistance from the WizeHive support team and help tools.
When I add a new field to an existing form, having to take an additional step to make the field viewable/editable.
We needed a simpler user interface that identifies for our applicants, reviewers, grant winners, and admins what they've completed, what's due, and when. WizeHive Zengine has done that for us. Affording our Program Management team more time to focus on the communities we serve and understanding the impact of our work.
PROS: Highly automated, brings excellent user experience, robust, and is super multifunctional. It seems that we never run out of new learnings about the functions of WizeHive as we continue using the tool. It has made many of our operations highly intuitive that we do not need to spend long hours to complete hard yearly tasks. Say, it is easier for applicants to fill their application forms, upload their requirements, attach and modify recommender information, submit new recommender, and send automatic notifications. Since applicants can complete these tasks on their own, our staff don’t need to add them to actual working hours anymore. Moreover, WizeHive has helped us a huge sum of cash because it has made much other software obsolete in our operations. We do not need a separate CRM, applicant tracker, onboarding tool, email merger, survey administrator, business intelligence data manager, and other essential programs. Plus, WizeHive comes with convenient Zapier plugins that boost the platform’s capabilities up to a few great notches.
CONS: WizeHive comes with great potential that is very difficult to learn. It is a good thing, however, that Zengine provides overwhelming great support for its platform. The onboarding team has worked with us to shape WizeHive according to our specific demands and identify the amount of support that we need. They’ve continuously worked with us until we are completely confident about the training, trials and tool management that we execute. Its user support staff are all competent enough about their product with excellent response time too. They utilize articles, videos and webinars, among other materials, to help us understand some other functions within WizeHive, and we regularly receive emails that carry impressive system changelogs. Currently, WizeHive has fully suited itself into our system after the support team has made big changes to the platform for us.
PROS: WizeHive is a super adaptable tool. It can be shaped perfectly according to your specific program.
CONS: WizeHive needs improvement in terms of interface design. There are areas when some texts show up for explaining processes to complete. The thing is, such texts aren’t needed when WizeHive has a seamless interface to begin with.
PROS: The application forms appear friendlier and less inconvenient for users, despite having an almost similar set of questions with another inferior software that we once used. All our grant applicants are having an easier experience with WizeHive. Also, the panel of reviewers loves the side-by-side reviewing feature since it helps them avoid the need to fill tons of paperwork for the process. Moreover, as the lone staff member of our program, WizeHive really helps me manage everything conveniently. It is now easier to distribute grants for internal and external review, easier to generate quality questions for pulling off necessary statistics data, as well as it is easier to make applications flow throughout its entire process. This is undoubtedly the best option for a program management tool.
CONS: WizeHive got no disadvantages. It’s easy to use and all of its features are magnificent.
PROS: The WizeHive platform is easy to open on demand. We can completely monitor all nomination entries and then connect them to the teacher application. Plus, one teacher application is capable of handling numerous nominations too. In addition, the Zengine support team has a super quick response time and provides excellent service whenever we call.
CONS: The internal reporting capabilities of WizeHive is somehow hard and confusing to use. We prefer exporting the reports instead and do the reporting outside of the tool.
PROS: Everybody has a great and easy time using WizeHive. That includes our reviewers, grant applicants, and grant winners. We also frequently receive quick and dependable help from its support tool and staff.
CONS: Adding a field in a form is slightly inconvenient. I need to make extra efforts to make it editable or viewable for others.
The response from the customer service staff on email was amazing and quick! I needed help for my clients and was able to turn that help around in seconds. My customers tell me they are very pleased with how easy it is to fill in their reports.

Streamlining our application and review process is critical and very smooth with this product. I also like that we can see historical and current data in one place.
We implemented WizeHive Zengine in September 2020 for our Fall Grant Cycle. Not only did Zengine improve our professional look, it was easy for our grant applicants to use. The Foundation Board of Director's was reviewing all applications via a shared drive or on paper. Zengine streamlined this process and gave us immediate results as each Board member completed their reviews. Our Board President said "That is the best money we have ever spent. I wish we had done this sooner?"
There is not much to dislike. Customer support and training have been excellent. Zengine has provided a quality team that is able to work with a variety of users and with various levels of computer experience.
We found Zengine to be a comprehensive answer to our grant management system needs.
We nw look much more professional. The required elements of the application help applicants complete all information. The input methods, text, dropdown menus and radio buttons streamline the process.
PROS: Convenient and is capable of handling a large number of application submissions. It also has a support service that always helps users with the tool and knows how to optimize its functions. The support staff also helps us manage some features on the platform.
CONS: It doesn’t carry some features that we want to see, especially after WizeHive is being customized to fit our needs. Although these are not that important features, and their being absent doesn’t affect the functionality of the tool at all.

WizeHive Zengine is intuitive and user-friendly. It is a powerful database with tremendous functionality. The better we learn the system, the more uses we find for it. It has transformed multiple workstreams for us, automating annual functions that used to be time-intensive and tedious. For example, our applicants complete their applications and upload resumes and transcripts; they also submit a recommender's name and contact information and have the ability to send automated reminders, update their recommender's email address, or even submit a new recommender. Empowering applicants to manage this process saves our team hours of work.
We use WizeHive instead of a CRM, mail merge service, applicant tracking system, time tracking system, onboarding app, business intelligence data app, and survey administrator. It saves us thousands of dollars annually. The Zapier integration extends WizeHive's functionality indefinitely.
The WizeHive Support Team is incredibly responsive and supportive. They build our capacity to use the system while immediately helping us answer questions and solve problems. We consider them extended members of our team!
The system is so intentionally designed with so much potential functionality that mastery can involve a learning curve. However, the WizeHive Implementation Team works closely with each client to determine the level of support needed and the level of involvement desired. The Implementation Lead does not sign off on the project until the client is 100% confident in the training, testing, and ongoing management of the system. The Support Team is incredibly responsive and demonstrates consistent mastery of the system and our particular use case. The Help Center has videos, webinars, and articles to support ongoing learning. Every month, we receive an email with all of the new system innovations. In the 15 months we have been using WizeHive, they have transformed the internal dashboards that were already very robust.
WizeHive helps us complete our application, selection, onboarding, survey, tracking, and alumni management in one unified platform. We used to save associated files in Dropbox and Google Drive; now, we have all of the records for each applicant in one secure location. We have saved many hours of time and countless Excel spreadsheets and Google Docs. Now, instead of having 10 Chrome tabs open each day with different surveys, documents, mail applications, and templates, we have WizeHive open.
