A worth-while endeavor
What do you like best about VIPKid?
VIPKid is a flexible and fulfilling way to come up with additional flex spending for my family. The curriculum is provided for you, all you have to do is be there for the kids and provide the best learning experience possible for them. Very little preparation is required.
What do you dislike about VIPKid?
There is nothing that I dislike specifically about VIPKid.
What problems is VIPKid solving and how is that benefiting you?
VIPKid allows me to work according to my own schedule, and do so doing something that I truly enjoy. Setting my schedule allows me to both spend the time I would like to with my kids and my family, while still providing some extra "fun money" for us.

They take care of their teachers well
They take care of their teachers well; fair pay; they provide training. Their hiring is a little strange- they don´t value the experience of being a communications trainer- you must have a degree it seems. I have taught here for 4 years. I am happy. It gives freedom. Jess from Canada

I work for VIPKID and love it
I work for VIPKID and love it. I teach Chinese children English online. I work from home, and I work while my kid's sleep. This job allows me to stay at home with my kids and still teach. It's pretty great!

Hello
Hello! So, I really enjoy the process in setting up a profile. However, there are no subject area columns or an option to search your subject area or desired job. It is tedious scrolling through all of those jobs when there are so many!

VIPKid is too impersonal for me as a traditionally brick-and-mortar educator.
What do you like best about VIPKid?
I like that VIPKid offered the opportunity to work flexibly from home.
What do you dislike about VIPKid?
VIPKid sends automated messages and doesn't review IC requests on an individual or personal basis unless you've jumped through hoops.
What problems is VIPKid solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working from home is the biggest benefit VIPKid offered.

Cold company
Cold company, they dont care about their teachers anymore.
Worked for them 2 years, never received my last contract to sign, tried to communicate with them, they never responded any of my messages, didnt even get a termination letter, a thank you note, nothing. Never knew what happened or if I did something wrong. Very dissapointing

Boring content, buggy platform, and unfair expectations of teachers/students
What do you like best about VIPKid?
Some of the content for smaller children is okay. There are a few silly songs I still think were good for learning.
What do you dislike about VIPKid?
The content for many kids, and especially older kids is an absolute snore and often far above the level of the students expected to be learning it. Children were often expected to do additional work outside of class which was rarely ever completed, probably since the classes and the children's schedules were so crammed-full to start with. The platform and content is outdated and boring. The parts of it that are updated could be nice, but require a stronger internet connection than most people have, so they would load super slowly or not at all, leaving students and teachers frustrated and unable to finish the course materials.
What problems is VIPKid solving and how is that benefiting you?
VIPKid is a source of problems, not a solution. All they care about is making money off of the poor parents who are trying to give their kids a leg up and the even poorer teachers who work so hard only to be treated and paid as independent contractors, not employees.

CCP parents carry anti-U.S. sentiment
I began teaching in 11/2017 and stopped taking bookings in 02/2020. I taught over 5,000 classes. I used to tell everyone it was great but now I tell people, "DO NOT go near it with a ten foot pole!"This change happened very quickly.
There was a change in the overall climate in 01/2020 which translated to parents' dissatisfaction with U.S. teachers. But the most disturbing fact of all which I had a difficult time coming into this realization is, CCP parents can ACTUALLY TARGET certain (types of) teachers to leave bad reviews. This is how they fire outstanding teachers that they want to get rid of. THERE IS NO WAY TO LEAVE A RESPONSE TO PARENT FEEDBACK and the travesty is compounded as there is no way to change feedback to warn other teachers! The feedback can be as HATEFUL as they would like it to be. It is amazing the type of feedback parents leave, whose child had a great class, you have never seen ANYTHING LIKE it. One or two bad reviews OUT OF 5,000 classes will RUIN THE JOB!! I forgot to mention that the hours will sap you of all your energy . HORRIBLE.
At this time there is a targeting going on of long time teachers. If too many parents leave negative feedback they will fire the teacher. As there is no way to refuse a student and disputing a review is entirely subjective, the dispute review is done by a person in Beijing who ALWAYS sides with the parents, who then you cannot dispute, it is ridiculous.
Note: I was not fired.
Again at this time there is definite U.S. teacher harassment. There is NO ( none , zero , nothing) teacher appreciation. They give you a quiz every day, which you can refuse but this is CCP policy for CCP members. This is actually being done to U.S. and Canadian citizens. If you refuse to do the daily quiz they start to send CCP member children to you so that the parent can target you in the feedback.
DO NOT EVEN THINK OF GIVING YOUR INFORMATION TO THIS COMPANY!! They take your passport, marriage certificate, everything and your picture and give it to the CCP.

I regret my entire two years and three months of involvement with this company.
