What do you like best about Vista Field Service?

viewpoint has excellent developer feedback for when issues arise in the field. They speak directly with field managers and employees to sort out issues and concerns where senior management does not often have to be involved.

What do you dislike about Vista Field Service?

The software is becoming a little dated and in my opinion could use a new facelift in the coming months perhaps with more servers etc. to help ease and speed progress.

Recommendations to others considering Vista Field Service:

Use this software if you have need of developer support and training.

What problems is Vista Field Service solving and how is that benefiting you?

Document control has become second nature and allows us to show most recent changes to any plan documentation. The software helped organize and categorize as well as become more streamlined. This equals more efficiency

What do you like best about Vista Field Service?

It is useful for keeping track of safety violations on site. Much easier than doing it on the desktop version.

That is about all I use it for as our IT department is still adapting it to coordinate with the desktop version.

What do you dislike about Vista Field Service?

The ability to use each feature is based off our our IT staff transferring files over from the computer version. Also, the user interface could be improved upon. Perhaps it is easier to use each feature but sometimes you need the additional keys and a mouse to be able to use the program fully.

Recommendations to others considering Vista Field Service:

Make sure your team will actually use it. We were required to start using it for safety documentation because the desktop version would no longer forward our safety reports to senior management (for reasons I'm not sure of). It created much ado about nothing. But now that we have switched over, we see the potential. Just do a substantial trial period with your company to make sure it fits.

What problems is Vista Field Service solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use it primarily to document safety violations when walking our jobsite. Viewpoint has many other features but it's not like you're going to manage invoices or check contract status on top of scaffolding. Those are much easier to do when you have a full keyboard & computer setup anyways.
