I have an API that many of my systems rely upon. If the webserver for this API goes down, it causes a number of systems to malfunction. With UpTrends, I get a near immediate notification that the API webserver has gone down. Which is quite preferable to finding out by way of seeing systems malfunction.

The alerts can be slightly annoying if you don't take the time to configure the monitoring properly. leaving it at default settings means you're going to have servers all over the globe pinging sites that may depend on a more localized traffic which might cause some false alerts.
For an agency that would have to monitor hundreds of websites, there is no other tool that meets the criteria of easy to use, accurate reporting of site performance, and pricing for the product.
