Unbabel has enhanced our our capability to provide reliably high-quality customer support in multiple languages, which has improved the experience we provide to our customers and the extent to which our teams in different locations can support each other. The team at Unbabel has been incredibly helpful in helping us to make a success of our Unbabel implementation, and to respond to our ongoing needs.
No major dislikes: where we have encountered challenges, the Unbabel team has been very supportive in helping us to overcome them.
By using Unbabel, we have been able to leverage English-language customer support resources around the world in offering a multi-language capability: our agents receive the customer's email translated to Engglish, they then compose an English-language response that is then translated into the customer's language, to a very high standard, securely, and customised to meet our specific translation requirements (for example, treating words differently if occuring in product names versus general text). We have also used this capability to provide knowledgebase articles in multiple languages, as well as for secure translation of internal text.

One of the downsides of Unbabel is the fact that it doesn't translate jpegs which is something that we need on a daily basis.
We have currently overhauled our support teams and Unbabel has and is helping us supporting our customers and merchants globally.
I use Unbabel primarily for translating a newsletter generated on Mailchimp to other languages. It is very easy to create my newsletter in English, download the HTML file and upload that to Unbabel for translation - all while keeping the original format. (I'm absolutely not tech-savvy in any way). But in general for things that don't require any special formatting you can just copy and paste your text into the box and it comes back in the language you select - straight forward.
In addition to how easy it is to use, the turn around time is actually alot faster than advertised and the tech support is helpful and responsive. Those two points are quite important to me since alot of my work is time sensitive.
Several team members at my organisation share the Unbabel account and we can easily track who is translating what project, the % of translation left to use for that period, user management can be done by one of our staff.
On the whole I would recommend this service. I also regularly use human translation and interpretation, google translate, DeepL pro and Unbabel is probably the best for anyone doing comms that needs a reasonible turn around time at a high quality.
The service that we have is to translate English to 5 different languages (and not from other languages to English). If I could change anything, I would recommend getting your top two languages translated to your main working language - rather than just have your main working language translated to other languages. For example, we work mainly in English and regularly translate to Spanish - our service is English to Spanish. But next time I would order the service that allows translation from Spanish to English too.
This has nothing to do with Unbabel and everything to do with the package we selected. We didn't realise what we needed until we started using Unbabel, especially since we have been growing as an organisation this year. Again, this was just poor planning on our part and nothing to do with Unbabel.
The biggest timesaver is Unbabel's ability to maintain the original format of documents that I submit to the system. Otherwise, I would have to create a separate re-formatted document for each language audience, which would take a significant amount of time.
As an administrator of Unbabel at Wise, I find the Unbabel portal most helpful. The ability to view usage and quality statistics, add users for access, and flag any potential incorrect translations all in one hub makes my job much more manageable and convenient. I have grown to really like the UBB portal :)
It is difficult for me to pinpoint something I dislike, but I can identify something that I feel may be a missing feature I have seen in competitors: attachment translation. This feature may be handy for our CS agents working on foreign language cases.
We have recently merged our email queues which were previously separated by language. Using Unbabel allows our English-speaking agents to work on cases from all regions and languages.
The flexibility it gives to our business helps ensure we can deliver in areas we have not been able to do before.
