What do you dislike about Typo?

"Although there's not much to dislike here, but just a small suggestion for be to provide some kind of tooltips or tutorial prompts that can help a new user to setup specific feature and familiarize as the integration of the tool can be a little overwhelming.

While there may be some aspects to criticize, the current tool effectively serves our requirements as a visualization tool for our development process. One suggestion for improvement would be to provide additional tooltips that guide users on implementing specific features within the system. This would be particularly helpful for new users who may find the initial login and integration process overwhelming with multiple accounts involved."

"Typo offers exceptional customer support and provides valuable insights into developer teams."
What do you like best about Typo?

We recently made the switch from a competitor developer analytics tool to Typo and have been thoroughly impressed by its exceptional quality. Typo offers a wider range of KPIs compared to its competitors and maintains a leading position in this domain with its rapid product development speed. Moreover, the outstanding customer support from Typo, characterized by remarkably fast response times, has greatly contributed to our satisfaction

What do you dislike about Typo?

So far, we haven't encountered any issues. However, we believe that enhancing the value delivery of Typo could be achieved by integrating with more Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tools.

What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Typo effectively resolves three significant problems for our team and organization:

1.) It enables us to visualize and track important KPIs for our department and teams. This empowers us to initiate conversations and take action when KPIs fall below our expected standards. The data provided by Typo is extremely valuable and not easily accessible elsewhere.

2.) Typo facilitates aligning our development efforts with our business goals. It helps us understand how development can support these goals and promotes a shared understanding among the team.

3.) Overall, Typo offers deep insights into our team's behavior and provides us with actionable ways to improve. It enables us to gain a comprehensive understanding of our team dynamics and empowers us to make informed decisions for continuous improvement.

"Great tool for actionable insights"
What do you like best about Typo?

The investment categories have been particularly significant for me as they provide valuable insights into our team's true focus. They serve as a validation mechanism, ensuring that the development activities align with what the team had planned and promised to deliver. This feature allows me to see which investment categories are receiving the most attention, affirming that the team is prioritizing and dedicating efforts accordingly. It adds a level of transparency and confidence in our development process.

What do you dislike about Typo?

Nothing to dislike as such. Initially I had to manually mark each uncatogorized PR individually but the typo team automated that as well.

What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?

The investment distribution and working agreements have proven to be essential features for me. The investment distribution allows us to monitor whether the team maintains a healthy balance between focusing on product features and addressing technical debt tasks. This helps ensure a sustainable and efficient development process. On the other hand, the working agreements feature helps us identify any blockers or poor practices that may hinder productivity. These features play a crucial role in maintaining a successful and harmonious working environment.

"Best insights and team data visualisation tool"
What do you like best about Typo?

One of the best aspects of Typo is its ability to provide a comprehensive analysis of repositories from various perspectives. The categorization of New work, refactor, help, and churn is particularly valuable, as it allows for a deeper understanding of different team members' work styles. These insights serve as valuable data points for team retrospectives, and I am eager to explore other areas, such as Pull Requests and Storyboard statistics, to uncover even more valuable information.

What do you dislike about Typo?

I have no specific complaints or dislikes about Typo. The tool has been impressively designed and meets our needs effectively.

What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?

"Typo has greatly contributed to improving team efficiency by providing visibility into each team member's work and their individual approaches. "Typo helps teams to ship faster"
What do you like best about Typo?

I really appreciate the integration of Slackbot with GitHub. It ensures that I stay updated on all activities related to my pull requests, such as approvals, change requests, comments, and discussions. This feature helps me avoid being a bottleneck in my team's progress by ensuring that I promptly respond and review PRs.

Additionally, I find it valuable to have access to various data and information regarding PRs, such as time to the first review and cycle time. While it would be great if GitHub itself provided this information, Typo fills that gap and earns extra points for its functionality. Although we haven't started regularly analyzing these stats as a team, I believe it would be beneficial in the future. Viewing the data can be a powerful way to highlight areas for improvement and may motivate team members to engage in collaborative development by providing reviews, comments, and thoughts more promptly.

What do you dislike about Typo?

Currently, there are no aspects that I dislike. The team at Typo has been prompt in making custom developments upon request. One notable example is our agreement to create draft pull requests (PRs) quickly, enabling all members to stay informed about ongoing work. This practice promotes transparency within the team. However, initially, Typo included the duration of draft PRs in the overall statistics, which resulted in skewed numbers. Fortunately, the team made the necessary adjustment to exclude the time spent on draft PRs, and now everything is working smoothly.

What do you like best about Typo?

Getting visibility on alignment of our tech efforts with business goals is what i like the most about typo.

What do you dislike about Typo?

There nothing to dislike so far. i would be happy to see updates that help tech teams gain more visibilty on business impact their efforts created. This would help dev teams operate with same motivation as business.

What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Teams often get distracted and put efforts in low impact areas. Cycle time goes high and there is no visibility on the bottlenecks. These are the biggest pains. With Typo we can react immediately to such distarction and bring cyclem time on track to deliver faster & maximum business impact.

Real-time Slack alerts have been super helpful to identify the PRs that need our attention.

What do you dislike about Typo?

Honestly I dont find anything to dislike but I would love to see more updates that reduce my context switching between GIT & Slack.

What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Delayed releases and high cyletime of PRs were a nightmare for us. With typo we are able to identify the areas where the bottlenecks exist and we have seen a significant improvement in cycle time.
