I do like that you can upload different documents like your tax forms and statements. That is convenient to have them listed all in one place. I also like that it breaks down all of the charges and aid by semester or altogether if you want to see the total. The payment processing is very easy to handle and very easy to add information to.
I don't like that it crashes sometimes and doesn't update correctly. Sometimes the payment plans also don't recalculate so it does not include the same total that is says on the same page (the total balance in full). At times, there may be three different totals: one on the ride side of the page with the terms, one as the total balance, and one in the payment plan balance.
I would recommend a chat link if that would be available to help with simple questions. I would also add that we did renew our contract with them so that showed that we did want to continue to use their program. Although there was talk about others we ultimately chose TouchNet. I would have others try them out if they are on the fence. There are also options as so how much you want to actually do with TouchNet so they will also adjust the prices. I actually don't know how much it costs so I did not include that below. The transactions below that is an estimate.
It is very convenient to be able to view what the parent looks at (or the student). The emulate the student is very convenient and helpful. I also like that the documents are there. I also appreciate that the authorized user function is simple.
TouchNet has been good due to how many tools there are within the software. So much can be accomplished. For the volume of payments received, there are minimal errors encountered that need looking into.
support can be hit or miss. Sometimes they are quick to resolve issues, but sometimes it may take a little more time than necessary even though you tell them exactly what needs to be accomplished. In certain instances, it would be helpful if individuals could make payments without needing to log in.
In short, TouchNet is helping us issue refunds, set up payment plans, and receive payments. Within each of those areas, there are many configurations that can be made. They're making the student finance experience much better.
It is effective, barely had any issues with our payments processing.
Some people get confused that they have to get redirected to a different tab to complete payment. Other than that I would say is 99% effective with our client base.
Have a business admin role be in charge of getting to know TouchNet so you have an internal person to address any admin issues you may encounter.

The best thing about TouchNet is that it can be easily integrated with the system for online payments. As we know the U.Commerce is best suited for college and universities. Because it can be easily set up with the students' account for online payment and helps to provide all the financial information of all students at a single point of access.
There is nothing to dislike but still, this payment system can take some time to understand by new the customers.
I will recommend every college and university that wants to access all student's fees details at a single point.
The benefit I realized is that my university is accessing all student's information at a single point.
I like the ability to reset and/or recalculate a payment plan. I like the ability to emulate a student and be able to see what they see.
I dislike the few times where there is a system error that makes me as the Counselor interacting with the student look incompetent. It can be frustrating seeing an issue that I can't fix on my own.
System is good and does job, can customize payment plans to some degree, which is nice.

The administration console is easy to use and organized well. There is a lot of product creation flexibility. There are a lot of useful reports to run. There are many excellent integration features so that many of our departments across campus can take payments via touchnet. Touchnet supports a large number of payment methods, including ACH. There are many customization features for each level of the process, allowing sorting and organization of categories and stores. There are many places that you can add custom text and photos to brand the site to your needs. The new designer layout looks sleek. Touchnet works for mobile users well.
Customer support takes a long time to resolve issues and often lacks communication. There could be more customization on the mall front and within stores. There are frequent changes with no notification that cause bugs and errors, which take a long time to fix. Some aspects are "old style" looking and need modernization. Customers have complained that they have to enter their contact information multiple times (for the product needs and then again for payment needs, no carry over from these fields).
Read documentation - as dull as it is, it helps a lot with the issues.
We can take payments via many formats. Any individual department or group on campus can create their store and sell products quickly.
Setting up payment plans works great as does setting up automatic payments.
When sending monthly payment reminders I wish it could also notify authorized users not just the student and I wish the reporting mechanism was stronger; allowing you to go back in time to review information
Ensure that you have a full understanding of what you are signing/committing to. Customer Service/response has not always been satisfactory.
We use it for students to make their monthly payments and then use the reports to analyze and track payments over set periods of time
TouchNet allows me to view students' payment plan history through the same viewpoint they are utilizing. The system allows our school to create payment plan options for the students' to enroll in, as well as, three different payment options.
TouchNet does not link directly/automatically with Oracle Peoplesoft; therefore, it leaves much to be desired when recalculating student payments/balances based on adjustments made within Peoplesoft.
TouchNet allows students to set up automatic payments from their personal funds or from alternative sources.
I like that students can sign up for payment plans. I like that students are able to pay online and set up automatic payments.
Touchnet disconnects a lot and has issues with balance matching up our system. Would like Touchnet so integrate with our system better
