The Toucan Tech customer support is very good - the team are friendly and proactive and they will push you to do more and more with your system.
I'd love it to be easier to find demos and 'How Tos' in the support knowledge base but that's a minor gripe as the customer support team are very helpful.
The system can seem a little limiting at first (it's not like content management systems like WordPress or Umbraco) but it really doesn't take long to get to grips with the tech and you can add content, send emails and run events all under the one hood.
Toucan Tech is helping us connect our former pupils, no matter where they are in the world. While we can do this through social media (Facebook, Twitter and Insta) with our Toucan Tech platform we own the data and that's very important to us as we look to develop donor pipelines and fundraising initiatives in the future.
ToucanTech software is intuitive and straightforward to use. I was able to get up and running quickly with minimal tuition and start making a difference for my business from day 1. The support team at ToucanTech is very approachable and answered any queries quickly, even out of hours. The customised email feature with various templates and filters helped me personalise and maximise the impact of each communication. New features are being developed continuously.
Initially, I experienced some minor limitations to customised layout and image display which were quickly and proactively fixed by the ToucanTech support team.
As a small organisation we have limited-resources and ToucanTech helps us grow and maintain an engaged online supporter base which ultimately generates income and supports organisational sustainability
I have been very happy with Toucan Tech. We were with Donor Strategy and we were looking for an alternative fundraising database. What I like the most about Toucan Tech is that you get a database and an online community to engage with your alumni. We launched ours just as COVID hit and it proved a very useful way to connect with our alumni during a difficult time when in person events were not possible.
I also like the fact that Toucan Tech is very intuitive and easy to navigate with many great features including an online business directory, forum, events, and news features.
I haven't got any dislikes. It all works well.
We are building our connections with our alumni over time. We can see that we are engaging with them and that they are enjoying reading our news features, etc.

Toucan Tech provided an easy was for us to collect donations and track our fundraising efforts, including understanding our donors.
Their customer support is outstanding. We picked ToucanTech because of their functionality: comms, database, events, fundraising/donor management, membership management and website...all in one. We are staying with them because of how easy and painless implementation was and how helpful and responsive their customer support is.
I don't think there is anything I dislike strongly about ToucanTech. Of course no software can do everything well -- so there have been things that we have been stuck on, but we've worked with ToucanTech support to either find a workaround in (or outside of) ToucanTech.
I know that some folks might think the design of the website is limiting, but I would respond to hire a better graphic designer. Our site is in ToucanTech and our designer was able to learn the system quickly and work within it to create a beautifully designed site. We are an association of designers, so design matters to us.
All of our data in one place. We needed a new website and we didn't want to our member data in multiple places (CRM and website). Also the filtering capabilities is tremendous and its easy connection to comms means you can start segmenting audiences immediately.
ToucanTech has really helped to orgnaise and consolidate our database. The email system is very easy to use and looks good, the events module is self explanatory and the careers network is easy to build. A great system that I would definitely recommend.
Toucantech helps us offer a great user experience for our parent community. There, they can find useful information, news articles, necessary resources and connect with other families from the school.
Sometimes it's hard to detect if a person who wants to join is really part of the community or not. I understand we need to double check users for security reasons but it would be great to have an automatic approval for parents who previously were in our database.
Toucantech is helping us connecting parents with the school and letting us provide a complete experience when it comes to communication, with events advertising and spreading the word about important school news.
It allows us to showcase the many wonderful things happening in our school via photo galleries, videos, news stories, and more in a secure way. We also intend to utilize the business directory as our parents are more than keen to connect with each other.
Nothing that I dislike. As is the case with everything, it is important to put time into learning the system and optimizing it. The support team is pushing us to do this and helping.
We were previously using the Parent Portal feature on iSAMS (school information system) to communicate with parents. It wasn't designed for that and is merely transactional (e.g. get grades, get test scores, get invoices). Toucantech allows for engagement.
ToucanTech offers an impressive suite of well-designed interactive features, all in one easy to use customisable online platform which was not on offert from competitors.
I am struggling to write something here. If there was one thing it could be improved and I believe is being worked on, it is the provision of additional functionalities on the mobile app.
ToucanTech has enabled us to consolidate multiple digital offerings and strengthen our alumni engagement opportunities for maximum effect. It has definitely resulted in improved performance for our association.

Creating our site with ToucanTech has been incredible for our school community and far exceeded our expectations. We started with the goal of having a central place for events, news & information, and a way for parents to network. All of these goals have been met and with better results than anticipated. The Event function, probably our most used, has brought our community together so that our events are more discoverable and inclusive. The quantity of events, type and number of participants have all increased. For news and photo/video galleries, our site has lessened our reliance on email and allowed us to share more and have a central place for parents to search for anything they may have missed in newsletters (so much better than searching through emails). We have also expanded our offering of parent interest groups, allowing parents to take the initiative to create and manage groups on their own. This has been really fun and helped to create the “close-knit” community we hoped to build. Another great function has been networking – great for parents, but also great for our high school students looking for guidance about universities and career paths. It feels like the sky is the limit!
There are a lot of functions the site has to offer that we have not yet fully explored & mastered. Our plan was to start slowly and then expand, but the lure of all of the features and potential positive impact for our community led us to take on a lot all at once. We are still finding our way with managing content, and I think we will have a better plan in place for our 2nd year. Our first year was amazing, but we just made it up as we went along. Next year we’ll be more organized in our approach.
ToucanTech has allowed us to create a central point of communication for our community. Parents can go there for news, photo galleries, events, and resources as well as to connect and network with other parents and also to join parent-led clubs for activities such as hiking local trails, ladies' lunches, triathlon training, books clubs, classes, and activities. Before we had the site, we had disjointed communication - the school sent newsletters and updates via email, the parents association used the class WhatsApp groups, and many parents relied on friends or Facebook groups for local information and recommendation. Via our ToucanTech community site, we now have a safe, cohesive place to communicate and connect. It's helped to build the community we hoped for.
