Learn how to create real-time data products with Tinybird
Tinybird is incredible for building real-time analytics products. We've tried out various alternatives like Clickhouse Cloud and a custom Redis-based solution, but none of them could match the response latency, pricing, and developer experience that we get from Tinybird.
Not much to criticize here – only suggestion I have is for the Tinybird dashboard to incorporate more AI features to help with crafting optimized Clickhouse queries :)
At Dub.co, we process millions of link redirects weekly and need a powerful OLAP database solution to store and process those clicks and display it to our users (https://dub.co/blog/introducing-new-analytics).
Tinybird is perfect for our use case – not to mention the stellar developer experience and affordable pricing.
Tinybird makes it super easy to get started with data analytics without the hassle. Ingesting is easy, querying is easy, exposing data for your data products is easy. The streaming materialized views concept is fantastic to keep aggregation queries fast and cheap. Tinybird helped us to get started building a complex data product with a very small team. The tinybird team provides excellent support!
There are some caveats in clickhouse and materialized views, but nothing an adept data engineer can't handle. Making aggregating merge trees easier to use could be helpful.
- Building data products fast
- Making big data analytics easy
- Completely managed data infrastructure
Tinybird is a click house as a service with a product layer on top of it. Think of it as a managed click house with connectors to ingest data and an automatic API for all your views. It speeds your development of data related products. And allows you to go real time
Nothing, we simply love their product and team
It solves ingestion and delivery of real-time data captured on our customers websites
The developer experience is next level. You can write SQL queries to materialize your data on ingestion and even prepopulate your new materialized datasource.
There's also a nice UI which is the cherry on top.
I would expect to see more GitOps related features in the future. The ability to easily manage everything via git will be fantastic.
Turning huge amount of data into insights in a matter of hours of work rather than days or even weeks
We put all the company data in Tinybird and created a different workspace for each team. This gives a safe playground for everyone to query and transform data, easily share insights and connect UI apps.
They only offer a managed version, so for the data we transfer to Tinybird from our cloud provider we need to pay egress traffic costs.
They're a relatively new company and even if the product is solid, they still lack of features. Their Customer Success department is awesome so don't hesitate to talk to them to let them know your needs, they will do their best (and sometimes do some hacks ;) ) to enable your use case.
Empowering business analysts is key to our company. We have one source of data and multiple teams using it in different ways: analysts who follow market trends, BI analysts, quantitative researchers and frontend developers that need to consume the same data in different ways. With Tinybird we can cover all those use cases seamlessly, and at the same time it gives data engineers very low maintenance overhead.
Tinybird is the massive leap forward we've always needed in order to manage our global scale platform in real-time.
Performance, professionalism and precision are their strengths.
Can be a bit pricy, but it's totally worth it
Real-time business insights, operational analytics.
the creation of analytics is simplified to the extreme, no complex aggregation pipes are needed, just knowing SQL.
What I miss in Tinybird is a bit more reactivity in the service,
be able to observe the changes in a table. I am hopeful that these improvements will arrive soon seeing the pace at which the Tinybird team is working.
Massive data ingestion and geographic information processing in real time to build reports. With Tinybird, the time and complexity of these developments have been reduced in an amazing way.
There are some problems with clickhouse and materialized views a skilled data engineer handle them. Simplifying the process of aggregating merge trees is not beneficial. Its user interface is bit confusing for beginners.
Tinybird is flexible and allows for development of data products it still lacks features due to being a relatively new company. Their Customer Success department is helpful there is room, for development and improvement of the product itself. There are workarounds required to meet needs.
This lacks to solve the problems of handling and examining volumes of data in time. By Using this progress of my business has decreased. It is unable to resolve issues. There is a steep learning curve.
