"Stack has proven to be the easy way to estimate."
What do you like best about STACK?

Stack is excellent from the ground up. It's simply well-built software, from an intuitive interface to the detailed and customizable archive of items and assemblies. The value Stack brings to takeoffs and estimating is worth every penny.

What do you dislike about STACK?

The trial period is short and limited, with a hefty upfront annual price tag. Accurately determining the value Stack can bring is challenging in the trial period.

What problems is STACK solving and how is that benefiting you?

Stack streamlines the estimating process. Takeoffs are conveniently measured without visiting general contractors' plan rooms, critical throughout the pandemic. Moreover, it has simply sped up the estimating process.

"Awesome Application That Keeps Getting Better"
What do you like best about STACK?

The application is versatile and easy to use. It allows you to do takeoffs quickly and easily from any PC in the world. The support is great and the developers have a long list of improvements from the user community that they are always working on. The improvements that have been made in the past year have been super helpful.

What do you dislike about STACK?

The price is my least liked part. They charge you for all features like estimating even though you do not want them. They also charge you double the price if you add a second user instead of a reduced price.

What problems is STACK solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use a MAC and there is limited applications that do takeoffs on MAC when we first looked for an app. The app works great and allows us to export the data we want with the fields we want so we are able to import it into our specific app for estimating.

"Love what you Do? STACK makes Loving Easy"
What do you like best about STACK?

Stack's versality is what makes this platform exceptional for construction professionals. Whether you do take-off's by hand, another platform, or photographic memory. We all can get to the same number of bricks, sticks, & mortar. It is hard to call Stack an estimating software, because it is so much more. The power of the platform makes estimating a breeze; the real work starts after getting down to the quantity of your materials. Whether it is sharing your take-off within a team for revisions, sharing plan changes through the cloud with a vendor. Field changes can be noted and circulated to subs or vendors with an e-mail link. As a developer we are starting to send "test" runs to my sub base with the share and invite features; for bidding assemblies and managing progress.

We recently rolled out a new residence model and went through the peer review process using STACK and it could not have been more productive; MEPs, Concrete, Suppliers, Architect, and Engineer were all able to redline any problems, or request a detail that would have been overlooked. Moving forward with the project, we know we have minimized surprises or plan busts. At the end of the day it is construction things are bound to happen; all we can do before the first stud is banged is minimize risk and STACK pays for itself. The plan bust caught by a trade; would have amounted to thousands of dollars to correct during construction.

The service is unrivaled, the STACK pros are always available for assistance; and regular updates and webinars/and one on training keep the user up to date on enhancements made or suggestions to get the most out of the program.

What do you dislike about STACK?

STACK does not fall short in many categories I'm sure there are some; but, as a daily user of the program I honestly do not remember the last time I was frustrated with the program.

Recommendations to others considering STACK:

See what it can do. It speaks for itself.

What problems is STACK solving and how is that benefiting you?

The communication disconnect between plan details and construction. Collaboration is key to any successful project. We can't be experts in every aspect of a build, this allows for one cohesive plan of attack from the first concrete truck, first stud delivered, and last coat of paint.

"Easy Cloud based take off software"
What do you like best about STACK?

The thing I like best about stack is the cloud-based storage, which makes it great for multiple users performing takeoffs. Everyone can see what everyone else is doing wich is very convenient.

What do you dislike about STACK?

There are just some little nuances that I dislike about the software. Mainly when looking for takeoff's through the list on the side bar it won't take you directly to the page that the takeoff is on. You have to be on that page and then hover over the take-off on the sidebar to see where it is.

What problems is STACK solving and how is that benefiting you?

Stack helps multiple users collaborate on a takeoff software. In the past, it would require one person to compress and email the file to the other person who would have to download and make any changes or do any take-off they needed. This process would have to go back and forth to be able to collaborate between two people on the same takeoff. Because Stack has cloud storage once one person hits save any other users can see what they have done and annotate or make changes without the tedious process of emailing a job back and forth.

"Great Software!!"
What do you like best about STACK?

Easy and fast to use. Very easy to train new estimators with this software.

What do you dislike about STACK?

Needs a better way to share notes and information with a team when multiple estimators are working on the same project.

Recommendations to others considering STACK:

Just get it! Hands down one fo the best software purchase we have ever made. We can complete takeoffs in record time on even the largest and most in depth project.

What problems is STACK solving and how is that benefiting you?

Take off are done faster than ever before. Major benefit is the speed and accuracy of the take off. We can do a simple overview takeoff of a project or an in depth takeoff counting everything down to the nails/screws.

"Solid product"
What do you like best about STACK?

The development team is constantly improving the platform. It's 100% in the cloud and can be accessed from anywhere. They look for and follow through with customer feedback and suggestions. Searchable plans has been a big help. Plan overlay has been valuable, and the hyperlink to other sheets has really helped with continuity.

What do you dislike about STACK?

The page numbering is still buggy. Doesn't have an arc function yet.

What problems is STACK solving and how is that benefiting you?

I learned how to do takeoffs with STACK and have grown as it has grown. It's allowing me to communicate better with the field and contractors. The hyperlink function has really helped with takeoff continuity and is a big time saver.

"Simple take off software"
What do you like best about STACK?

Stack is an easy to use take off software that is cloud based, so multiple users can collaborate on a single take off.

What do you dislike about STACK?

Sometimes it is hard to find a take off once you have closed out of the page its on. There is a tab on the left side but it doesnt always take you exactly where you need to be.

What problems is STACK solving and how is that benefiting you?

Stack helps collaboration between multiple people on one take off software. When I was in the construction industry it was alot of back and forth or verbal communication about take offs. With this system someone can make changes and you can see that immediately.
