Easy to learn; easy to use; they have a great support center.
There is nothing that I dislike about Squirrel.
Squirrel is the platform we use to create food and beverage orders for our kitchen and consequently, invoices for our guests.
Squirrel POS is so simple to use and edit on the fly , price adjustments and items edits or adds can easily be done right from the POS when bartenders and servers inform me of issues.
Sometimes editing mods/addons/combo pop-ups can be tricky, getting it to let me select flavors on wings or add-ons for baked potatoes followed by temps on steaks, some buttons let you click multiple some are solo some force you to click something learning these can take some time to configure these accurately, i now have access to Squirrels learning cafe and online help guides which when i took over this property i was unaware of.
Squirrel POS has helped contain all 3 of my departments in one place, I run a restaurant, bar, and market inside of the hotel. the ability to offer different visuals for the types of departments works well for employees while allowing me to control all from one area
Using Squirrel has completely redefined how I run my small business. It has helped us streamline our daily operations. It has eliminated the ordering issues we had experienced with our old POS sytem. It has helped reduce our food waste with better tracking options. It has allowed our kitchen to run smoothly, cutting down on meal wait times.
The initial setup was daunting, to begin with. I am not someone who deals well with change. I also am not comfortable with technology. Once we got through the start-up, things went far smoother. I am now ecstatic with the whole system. It was well worth the initial frustration.
Running low on certain items was always an issue for us. We now use the countdown feature, and it has eliminated that problem. We also have a daily lunch special option. We have a special that needs a $1.00 discount. With Squirrel POS, we have a $1.00 discount button that has streamlined our staff billing and is easily shown to the customer.
How familiar everyone is with Squirrel in the industry. Makes it easy to train.
Lots of times, I have had to come in the middle of the night to resolve glitches.
I like the reports that keep me informed from many different perspectives. This allows me to adapt quickly.

I highly recommend this system. I have worked with a few different POS and this is definitely the easiest to use and program.
We like the function that enables us to determine sales on a time interval. it has helped us determine opening and staffing needs and hours

The system is very easy to use especially for programming multiple departments. It is super easy to build a menu tree and with our 10 outlets that was a time saver
sometimes not enough online agents on the support website but call-in support is great. maybe have longer hours for online support as with our outlets starting at 7am and some going until midnight we need all hours support
choose what suits you in terms of support and ease of use/setup. you may find it cheaper but that is not the best reason to buy a product
in the beginning just the regular setup problems, sometimes I need printer setup or terminal freeze fixes. for the most part, if we add terminals or printers to outlets the support team is always quick to resolve issues

Squirrel POS is used in all our locations and is stable, scales well, is consistent across all devices, is super customizable, and has the options (centralized menu and pricing, tablet POS, all the core POS functions) we need. Very satisfied.
It can be complex to set-up depending on the integrations you need, and some of the features do not have terrific documentation.
Our previous POS vendor was difficult to work with and we couldn't get the customizations and capabilities we needed without significant additional cost. Squirrel has helped us develop and grow not just in our POS capabilities but in areas like integrating online ordering and our gift card solution.
