Spotlight reporting is great for consolidation, creating budgets & drivers easily. They also have a great onboarding process to make sure you and your company is well equipped to use the software to its fullest potential. Had a great time talking to Mel and she was very friendly and supportive.

The only downside as an accounting partner is having to pay for 20 organizations upfront as part of their business model. From the perspective of a small firm, it takes time to onboard clients, and I would like this to scale up instead.

Solving analysis for the following - profit margins, cost/sales drivers, forecasting/sensitivity analysis, and the ability to do consolidation seamlessly.

Could be better in consolidation of accounts in group. But, overall its a great experience

Solves manual data entry time, and ensures accuracy, Xero reporting name and spotlight reporting name as separate is a lovely option too.

Excellent software that provides a management report in the click of a button via a seamless integration with Xero. Really helpful customer success & support teams.

Lack of customisations on reports eg re-arranging columns, adding custom reports that includes both P&L & BS items (eg to show distributable profits).

I was looking for a software to take shareholders meeting the next level and Spotlight has delivered.

Pros

We Have been searching for a solution to consolidate reporting for multiple QBO entities. This was easy to roll out and saves time for our monthly Family Office reporting. After initial setup, it is as easy as hitting a couple of buttons each month. Previously we had been using Excel, which was not ideal.

Took some time to get the P&L and Balance sheet customized for our needs, but overall it wasn't too bad since it is a one-time process.

Before Spotlight, we pulled monthly reports from multiple Quickbooks accounts and manually created Excel spreadsheets to make a consolidated report. We had been looking for software that could track everything we needed and integrate with QBS for a long time. With Spotlight, we can upload information directly from QBS and Excel to create detailed P&Ls and Balance Sheets across our whole organization.

The fact that you only need to set it up once and the automates your monthly management reports in a professional way is really impressive to clients. The charts and visual aids also really help to translate data into information

It works great for consolidating small group companies but went the group consol becomes large eg more than 5 companies and in multiple countries it really becomes difficult to use. Especially finding the accounts that were not eliminated with the intercompany transaction eliminations. Also you cant to partial eliminations.

It helps to automate the actual vs budget process.

It is not easy to edit certain elements within the actual reports which means I tend to delete them rather than utilise them properly

It makes it significantly easier to present financial information in a way that is meaningful and visual

The graphical representation makes communication to non finance managers significantly easier

.Spotlight helps start the discussion about your business, identifies pain points and allows us go on with improving the business

I think it should have video links or a help icon in the program that when you hover over a report if not sure how a report works it can guide you
