This is the most complete and reliable email delivery solution for pros. It has a delivery API, as well as google email marketing apps for mailing campaigns (blasts) and autoresponders.
The best? They don't limit the subscribers for your marketing email lists.
The UI is not as pretty as SendGrid. But who cares? You got far more functions and technical options.
- Transactional email API.
- Email marketing campaign blasts.
- Drip email campaigns (autoresponders).
Ease of use. It's easy to set up using the standard SMTP parameters or their API hooks with several applications; I just use their wordpress plugin and I'm up and running in 5m or less.
I wish there was just a bit more control over logging and monitoring. Don't get me wrong, the existing tools are fine; but if it were up to me I'd add additional logging options.
Be sure to read up on SMTP.
Email registrations for WooCommerce sites. I can now host in places where outbound SMTP is not permitted, like Azure.
Simple setup with good tools to analyze your emails.
I have not found problems with SocketLabs, yet.
Most of my activity is websites sending out emails for notifications, passwords, etc.
I have used a variety of the "free" SMTP gateways. They were always changing the rules on what could be sent, and when. Delivery was often a problem.
You don't often get feedback when your emails don't go through. The users just stop trusting your site.
SocketLabs provides a nice, simple, stable, platform to send through. Their reports let you know where problems may exist and give visibility on where email addresses may be entered incorrectly.
And it's always good to know that there is more available with SocketLabs if I need it. I know I'm just using a small portion of the service.
Sockectlabs has the advantage of being simple to use while having the full set of features normally only available in highly priced onsite solutions. Having run onsite solutions in the past, they often required a fairly high level of expertise as well as constant tinkering. Socketlabs provides you with that level of function without the time and money investment.
The product also helps with the compliance to standard around good mail sending. These features are especially important when attempting to be a good mail sender and keeping off blackhole lists.
While the product has powerful reports, it lacks a level of native alerting without going into API creation and setup. I would like to see the reporting expanded as well as several options for native event alerting.
Integration with a tool that reviews a message and checks it for possible consideration of spam would also be useful to have in the product, vs having to purchase a 3rd party tool.
If you are tired of dealing with an SMTP onsite solution, or you are experiencing SMTP outages, I highly recommend this as an alternative. The price is reasonable, and the service is fantastic. The Support team is very responsive not only on setup but also on-going when there are product based questions. Overall setup time is very small.
Socketlabs replaced a costly alternative and has done a better job then the alternative onsite product that was being used. The pricing and service tiers as well as periodic billing choices allow for the solution to easily scale as needed to your business requirements.

Our company has been using SocketLabs since 2012. It didn't take long for us to determine SocketLabs is one of the best solutions for sending email.
The user interface is easy to use and provides all the features needed to send to email, no matter if its 1 hundred or 1 million emails an hour.
All the latest security features like DMARC & DKIM are easy to setup in the admin console. Updates to their software are timely and easy to setup.
Their customer service is top notch offering both phone and email support. We always had a positive experience when we needed customer support to troubleshoot any issues. In addition, they have extensive help guides in case you want to research things on your own.
Honestly, there's not much to dislike about SocketLabs. There are a few minor quirks in the Hurricane MTA server application, but none of them are worrisome. I wouldn't be surprised if they address them in the next update, if they haven't already done so.
We use SocketLabs to help us deliver email at a high success rate, minimizing emails being blocked or going to the spam folder. SocketLabs helps us accomplish this.
