User-Friendly Interface, Extensive API Integrations, Robust Translation Memory, Excellent Customer Support
Confusing User Interface, Limited Reporting Features, Issues with Specific Integrations, Lack of Offline Functionality
Overall, Smartling garners mixed reviews from users. While some users applaud its user-friendly interface, translation accuracy, and customer support, others express concerns regarding its pricing, limited features, occasional technical glitches, and subpar project management capabilities. Many users recommend the platform for small to medium-sized businesses seeking reliable translation services, but they caution larger enterprises to consider more robust alternatives.

Once Smartling is set up there is little oversight required.
For more complex websites, depending on the set up, some text/data may not translate.
With the help of Smartling, we have been able to have our website translated to Spanish.
The first thing and the most important thing is the trustful relationship we have built with our Smartling Project Manager and our Smartling Customer Success Manager thanks to daily communications, weekly syncs and bi-annual check-in.
What I appreciate most about Smartling is the inherent flexibility the platform provides. The SLS Team efficiently localizes all our content using automated workflows, making the process remarkably easy, swift, and cost-effective.
Smartling is evolving constantly, offering always new features, new connectors. So what I dislike about Smartling is nothing!
I don't have enough time to keep up with its continuous evolution, but I keep updated thanks to my Smartling Customer Success Manager.
100% of our content at Rover is localized through Smartling. It's impressive because we are talking about almost every type of content: blog post, macros, CRM email marketing, help center articles, web/ios and android content. We just built a new project as well to transcreate youtube Rover videos. It's very exciting!
We have been using it for over a year and it is making translations a breeze. Great platform & fantastic support.
With SFCC we have some manual steps to take to tranlate the contetn within Page Designer.
We are able to tranlate all our FR Canadian content and will be using it for our EU languages this year.

The errors tool - difficult to understand to which string the translator or reviewer refers to ad in which language
It solves spending tons of money and time on re-translations of pre-translated strings.
Having the opportunity to engage with our Customer Success Manager, Tanner LaCorte, has been incredibly valuable. We've established regular sessions for him to connect with our team, and this has greatly contributed to our associates' knowledge and proficiency with the tool. Additionally, the support team consistently demonstrates a willingness to promptly address our concerns and provide swift resolutions.
The MTS is cost prohibited at this time.
We need content localization to engage and communicate with our non-English speaking clients.
How easy to translate all macros without needed to submit often.
User face could look a bit better or provide step by step on how to process certain actions.
Translating macros to multple languages
The best part of Smartling as a tool/framework is
1. The wonderful and responsive support team - whenever you run into an issue and raise a support ticket, you get a prompt response.
2. CAT tool - The way Jobs are available for translation in Smartling and the in-context interface which helps translators to understand how strings are structured on the page, is amazing.
3. OOTB connectors and Integration with multiple applications through APIs.
We have extended the usage of Smartling to other applications like Iterable as well where we don't have custom connector available. Overall it's a wonderful TMS application and offer lot of features to integarte with custom applications
I don't think there is anything to dislike, but there could be a few improvement areas as an end-user, which I can suggest. For example - if someone is using Smartling with AEM and Strings are already published from smartling and synced back in AEM, the job is completed in smartling. Now if translators want to improve upon a few words or strings, there is no way (without customization through a callback), these updated translations can be synced back again in AEM.
This is still an open issue with Smartling <> AEM connector.
I would highly recommend other customers to use Smartling for their Translation Management purposes..
We are hosting content in 23 locales and though Smartling, we are able to translate content for multiple locales. This would ensure that there is consistency among all different locale websites and surely it would keep the end-users across the world connected and happy !!
Next year we would be adding multiple new languages to support our european customers.
