It is very easy to use. It has customer support. It is very intuitive.

It does not have a dictionary integrated by default

It helps me do the translation very quickly and also that I can check every segment of the translation. Also, I can add comments to check some segments later. Finally, the tool keeps the original format of the documents

Honestly, it was and still is a tool that streamlines the translation processes we request in the company. The translations are fast and 99% accurate because the remaining 1% is a literal translation that can be fixed in the same Software, which the AI will remember and use in future translations.

Sometimes, the Software indicates that its engines are overloaded after starting translations. I want to think that many people are using the software, and of course, it's not bad. However, they make translations take longer than an hour to work.

I can list a lot of situations.

- Translation of 700K words in three months. Took about 1-2 minutes to translate each file.

- Manually, we had to translate between 5 to 8 slides in PowerPoint. In the worst case, from 20 to 41, however, the tool made it possible in 1 minute.

- Manually, we had to translate flowcharts and operation sheets in Excel. The diagrams took about 40 minutes. It was a long process, but SmartCat translated the work that would take us a week into a day in less than a minute.

- In one day, we manually translated between 20 to 25 files, both PP and Excel and Word, on some occasions. What did SmartCat do? It tripled that number.

- Thanks to our saved time, we concluded the certifications with days to spare, allowing us to start with other projects.

As a freelancer-translator, I take advantage of Smartcat. For projects with a lot of repetitions, you can create your TM (translation memory) and automate your work.

Smartcat platform will not detect the language of your source document. Therefore, if you choose a wrong source language and choose a paid option, you loose your credits.

- They are trying to be a CAT tool and TMS. So they don't have integrations with any other TMS tool

- No INR support (I don't think any other tool has this either)

- There are some small issues with project sequences and numbering

- The marketplace doesn't have very good filters

It's a very reliable Cat tool that you can use for free as a Freelancer! I have used it for years, and I am delighted with it!

I can edit any type of files. I can efficiently manages all my clients and I can work on any computer with an internet connection.

Splitting documents into segments makes it easy to deal with the projects. Responsible Customer Support. Once the buyer makes payment I get paid to my wallet within one or two days. No, need to follow up with customer about payment, they do it all on my behalf, I just accept projects, complete projects and wait for the rest from Smartcat.

If there is little change you have to go through out the segments. I suggest that they can add a "Replace" function like in microsoft word so that when I want to replace a certain words in the document I can just go to Replace and it changes the word throughout.

Through the tool I am also more productive because I can even import documents and manage easily over the system and then download.

I don't have to worry about formatting, the tool makes the same format as the original document when you download.
