I haven't yet seen any downside with Setapp, only positive things.

I dislike that some apps are removed from the app store. It doesn't happen often but if it's an app you heavy rely on it can suck. It would also be nice to extend to iOS devices/apps without having to pay an additional fee.

If you don't mind paying for a subscription model and the apps included in tools you could use frequently, then I would highly recommend using Setapp.

I have 16 apps installed that help with various things, from renaming files, to organizing my menu bar, remote connection to my Mac, improving my system's performance or keeping my Mac awake when needed.

I can't really think of anything I don't like about Setapp.

Setapp introduces me to apps and tools that I didn't know I needed, and I didn't know they existed. Several of the apps I use are paid apps and Setapp makes it easy to pay a monthly subscription and have access to multiples for less money than if I subscribed to them separately.

I love utilizing my Mac and the awesome apps developers create. It can get very expensive buying licenses or subscriptions for each. This gives me a wide variety of helpful tools to improve my productivity and Mac experience. Work does not cover the cost for me, but I use it for work tasks every day.

The selection is pretty great and they add to it fairly often. It covers a range of categories, for designers, productivity, Mac system tools, video editing, writing, and many more.

The annual subscription cost is still a little high for me. Also, on very rare occasions they remove an app from their library, which can be very frustrating if it's an app you've incorporated into your workflow.

Sometimes you need the right tool and the ones you have just don't always cut it. I've found apps to solve those specific instances but also found new apps that I wasn't aware of, which have broadened my capabilities and improved what I can produce at work.

Setapp have consistently added new apps. I've discovered found some really useful utilities I didn't know I needed. Even if I only use them occasionally, it's great to know I have them available when I need them.

The only downside would be having to switch back to individual product licenses if you closed your Setapp account.

Check how many apps you use that are available in Setapp. If it works out cheaper to join Setapp do it. Even if there are only a couple of apps you currently use in Setapp you will likely discover full versions of many other applications you will find useful,

I've been a Setapp user since it was first available after I figured out the cost of licensing the individual Mac apps I was using at that time totalled more than the price of a Setapp licence making it a no-brainer.

Where to start? There are a number of Setapp apps that I cannot imagine working without, among them PASTE, Bartender, Coherence X, and Clean My Mac. Plus there are a number of apps that I rely on for special projects. Just yesterday, I found Nitro PDF Pro, which will save me something like five hours for one need alone. SetApp is worth every penny.

I feel like sometimes they could be more proactive in troubleshooting and adapting to changes in the digital environment. Although it is difficult to find fault with its service, greater agility in handling changing scenarios would be a point to improve.

I like that I have access to many valuable applications in a single subscription. It's like having a treasure trove of tools that help me with everything from editing and design to time management and coding. I like the wide range of different tools.

Sometimes I wish there were more specialized options. It's not as flexible as I'd like it to be. Support is sometimes slow when bugs are found. Sometimes it is slow to load the information.

It saves a ton of money as I can use dozens of apps without having to purchase them separately. It allows me to focus on my work and projects without distractions. There are a wide variety of options to make what you need.
