Secoda is the best source for learning about our company databases. It's the easiest place for me to search tables as well as collaborate with team members to keep track of . I use Secoda on most analyses I work on.

The Secoda team also offers great support. They're lovely people and great to work with. They push new features all the time and always keep us in the loop.

I don't have any complaints about Secoda. We're still training the Secoda AI so that feature will be more helpful in the future.

For me, what diferentiates Secoda from other data catalogs is the constant mindfulness around making data accessible for the entire company, not just individual data oriented groups. Setting up integrations is quick and easy, and exposes data in a way that feels a lot more natural which makes it easy to dive in for anyone. The team over there is also great to work with, super receptive to feedback and always jumping in to help ASAP.

The search function in Secoda makes all of the terms, documentation, cataloging, etc. easy to find for users of all data expertise. This continues to be vital in our efforts to operate more efficiently!

We do run into product bugs here and there, but the Secoda team is incredibly quick to respond to + resolve bugginess!

Secoda is helping my company transfer tribal knowledge into one single soure-of-truth. This will enable all of our future data efforts to grow at-scale. We currently use Secoda to catalogue data questions/requests, maintain a dictionary and document tables + lineage, and have plans to start using the platform for monitoring as well.

Other praises: The Secoda interface is really clean and easy-to-use. The product team is always iterating and improving offerings in intentional ways that help us solve more data challenges. Their thought leadership in the space is top-tier, and you can see a healthy data community starting to grow around their efforts. Lastly, all of the aforementioned items are also made possible because of their customer care and the hard work they do to ensure the customer voice is heard. All of this benefits our company in many ways!

We're using Secoda to support our self-service analytics journey. It's at the core of data documentation and data discovery for both our analytics and broader business users.

Secoda is built with business users in mind, and not only analysts. The UI is userfriendly, and it integrates with all our BI tools, so the documentation stays live.

Secoda is still a young company, and some features still have a few bugs that needs to get sorted out. The team has been good at fixing bugs once they have been identified.

Secoda is integrating all our metadata from our different BI tools into one place and make them available to business users in a nice format.

Secoda AI was a game-changer in finding the data that you need. I was very impressed with the results, and it motivates you to organize your data correctly so that the AI can parse it adequately.

The writing/editing experience is very adequate but could use some quality-of-life improvements and overall UX tweaking.

I also love the iterative approach that Secoda takes with new features. They invite the community to request features and actually listen to their end users.

There are not any downsides to Secoda. The only thing that comes to mind would be the initial setup of integrations, but this comes with the setup of any new tool and with Secoda once you integrate with a service they automatically update the metadata for you.

We use Secoda to help document our multiple data pipelines across our company and different teams. Secoda then allows any user in the corporation to quickly search this data removing the need for constant questions or misinterpretation of the data.

Most data dictionaries target engineers and technical users. They focus on table schemas and metadata, which is useful in an engineering and data science context, but is not geared towards the rest of the business.

By comparison, Secoda is a data dictionary/knowledge platform for anyone. By pairing technical documentation and lineage with wiki/Papers style pages, data consumers in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain can search for terms they use daily and find related resources helpful to their work. Metrics definitions, semantic terminology, BI asstes, and business domain lexicon gets to live side-by-side.

Very little. I would like to see additional collaboration features, like in document comment threads.

That being said, they actively release new features, so I imagine it's a matter of time.

We use Secoda to help us get the business aligned on key metric terminology, so that we can ensure everyone is speaking the same language, that new hires have easy onboarding to the data and terminology of the business, and that the central data team is delivering data products aligned with the needs and understanding of the business.

Secoda has made identifying dependencies easy. You can easily trace which dashboards or queries use the fields you're trying to update. This helps us proactively identify required changes before breaking any existing reports or code.

The product is pretty new, and there are a lot of opportunities for growth. The dependency view will be more accurate as they add more integrations to various tools.

We're building new products, and as we grow, the needs evolve, and requirements change. Sometimes, making these changes impacts database tables. Without Secoda, sometimes we'd have to wait for things to break to identify downstream impacts. Secoda helps us trace all the dependencies, enabling us to update the relevant SQL before things break.
