Always the source for current information

What do you like best about RSMeans Data Online?

RS Means is definitely who I turn to and rely on for the most up to date cost date in the construction industry. It can be very challenging keeping an accurate log of unit costs, and RS means give a more general understanding of these unit costs, location multipliers, etc. for knowledge gaps.

What do you dislike about RSMeans Data Online?

I wish at times that we could know the source of their data compiling, that way we could know for sure how accurate it is, especially for our location.

Recommendations to others considering RSMeans Data Online?

Definitely consider RSMeans as a tool for data that is updated, at the very least, once a year - which is more frequent than at my own company, personally.

What problems is RSMeans Data Online solving and how is that benefiting you?

Knowledge gaps and scope gaps, especially for trades that are used less frequently so unit costing is not recently upheld internally at my company.

updated data base, search feature, crew costs slow search functions when using on-line version much easier than using the Means Books construction cost estimates especially for change orders very useful

Very simple tool to learn how to use effectively.

I like that each portion of the book is broken up and categorized according to the specification standards. This makes it very easy to get take offs on labor, equipment, and material costs.

What do you dislike about RSMeans Data Online?

I dislike probably what everyone dislikes, the ability to find specific non-ordinary concepts.

I am constantly using RS means to run take offs on contractors estimates in regards to change order requests.
