Rocket Docs users frequently praise its content library for its ease of use and organization, particularly for managing and retrieving information for RFPs and questionnaires. They appreciate the ability to create templates for quick proposal generation and centralized storage of company knowledge. However, some users express frustration with the search function, finding it unreliable and requiring precise wording for accurate results. Additionally, several users mention issues with integration, particularly with Salesforce, and formatting inconsistencies. Despite these drawbacks, most users view Rocket Docs as a valuable tool for streamlining their RFP processes and improving team efficiency.

very user friendly - a great way to share repetitive information used by different users
There is really nothing that i dislike about rocket docs, it really helps me with most of my tasks.
I deal with a lot of quarterly operational questions that are repetitive or asked by many managers. By storing our data in rocketdocs i don't have to chase people around for answers. I only chase if the answer is not stored.
Rapid Doc templates and the content library management system's capabilities
Salesforce integration is not very user friendly
We needed clean templates for our various solutions that we could quickly export for customer-facing proposals. We have a dozen or so templates that we're using to rapidly create solutions, export them as a Word file, do a final line edit and distribute to the customer. This feature allowed us to create 45-60 proposals in a given month.
User friendly, centralized information, easy to update
sometimes the information is not updated and topics are not inserted properly
centralized RFP info
After over 20 years of using different RFP database management systems, I am impressed with the usability and ease of organization in the system. The speed with which my team can locate and update responses is impressive. RocketDocs also seems to be in a period of time where they are introducing new features quickly that extend the functionality. Examples include consistent improvements to reporting and administration aspects. We are a large organization pushing past 1,000 records, and the Libraries and Taxonomy structure (including freeform tags) are beneficial with data management.
Some RFP teams may find great benefits from their RapidDocs feature. Ask them to demo for you. It automates commonly used information into templates.
As the system is in a period of impressive growth, many of the negatives that may have been present once are being quickly replaced with positives. The company is very responsive to user input and feedback. We find them quite open in communicating where they see future improvements - and then acting upon them quickly. There is nothing that we need the system to do that it does not do. And we are likely not using every aspect of the system - so we have room to grow as well.
RocketDocs is a strong company with a long history of innovation. Their system, formerly PMAPS, has evolved every year. From server-based, to the early online plug-in integrations, to fully web-based, to the responsively designed system you see today. There are undoubtedly other vendors in the space. My advice: conduct your due diligence, review each system, and know how your specific team uses RFP databases today and what they need in the future. Come prepared for a demo or sales call with your current pain points, gaps, and needs. This preparation will help RocketDocs craft a demo that reflects your unique requirements.
Problems are the same for all RFP teams: finding the correct data at the right time, and organizing data into useful Libraries and subtopics. RocketDocs allows us to manage more than 10 different lines of business and keep our data organized and structured. The use of freeform Tags for each record is an excellent advantage for each user to tag items as they see fit for easy locating in the future. As a manager, the Reporting allows me to review the productivity of each team member and review when responses are outdated and in need of SME updates. We can maintain a comprehensive list of SMEs and their direct managers using custom fields without assigning each SME a login. For many organizations, getting SMEs into the system is difficult, but getting them on the phone to answer a quick question is much easier.
RocketDocs assists in streamlining the RFP process and seamlessly maintain our database.
There is nothing to dislike! Nothing is missing from the product, and it consistently assists with workflow.
The benefits of RocketDocs are all about streamlining our RFP process, in turn, assisting our team to be even more productive. The business performance continues to increase.
Basically use it as a file cabinet for written work no search engine for questions. The reporting feature to report and tech completed work is very helpful.
Would be cool if it could search net words so if they are misspelled it will still offer options.
Searching for found reaponses
I like how it is easy to navigate. The search tool is very user-friendly. I will put keywords, and it is populated almost instantly.
Nothing on the actual application - it's more keeping our data up to date, but that is something we have work on.
By having our standard firm information updated regularly - it's saving me a lot of time - and not having to go back and forth with diffrent department. Time saving for sure!
We have been using RocketDocs to manage RFPs and content. The software meets all our needs.
The viewer is difficult to work with, but I know that is going away in the future.
Having a centralize database to search for content.
In terms of organizing information, the software is an excellent tool. The user can use several different custom categories when uploading information in order to sort the data. RocketDocs allows users to customize how they wish to mark and tier the incoming information to enable users to search through tons of documents as straightforward as possible. For each uploaded record, there is the option to enter notes, details about the person uploading or reviewing the form, and the option to indicate the date when a document has become obsolete. A vital benefit of this feature is that it ensures the response used has been updated or reviewed recently.
RocketDocs does not include autosave in the cloud-based Excel and Word versions of the application. As a result, if you use RocketDocs on a regular basis, you will likely encounter the program closing unexpectedly once or twice. Therefore, you need to ensure that you save manually.
I highly recommend RocketDocs for quickly developing middle-size companies. Besides, remember about saving your progress, as the autosave feature is not available!
As part of our marketing and sales planning, RocketDocs aids in building a hierarchy of FAQs that aligns our products/solutions with client needs. Linking Word files to RocketDock enables users to update their documents quickly and easily through the re-link feature.

It is able to house all of our RFP data and the client servicing has been great. The upload to the newplatform has also been pretty seamless and when we have had issues with the upload, the team was great to reach for help.
Nothing so far -- I am not an everday user but have walked through the new platform usage and found it to be user friendly. I guess the only thing being the attachments of tables or pictures where it needs to be manually inserted.
Having a main place to store all the answers for all our products for our proposals and questionnaires. It makes it easy to find everything at one spot and users can access it in case if the RFP specialist is out of the office.
