My favorite part of Renaissance Star Assessments is that they are made with every student in mind. The assessments make it easy for teachers to identify learning gaps and help students reach their learning goals.
The only frustrating part of Renaissance Star Assessments is that I feel like there is not enough time in the day to utilize all the available resources. I wish that I had more time to learn everything available and how to utilize it in my classroom.
It is solving the problem of finding out which state standards my students need me to work on most. Otherwise it would be almost impossible to figure out what they were still not understanding.
I love the reports at the end. I am please with the amount of data and the break down of the data after a child tests. I feel like this makes my small reading groups run so smoothly and helps me plan for those.
I wish there was a way for teachers and facilitators to monitor ALL assessments at one time. I do find students will "Christmas tree" the answers and I always make them do it again.
This solves the problem of me having to "manually" assess and place all students into the correct reading groups. Not only that, it also gives me exact data on scores which help me to guide my student's work.
STAR assessments are very accurate to their ability for the most part. The skills taught are all covered and when students are above/below average, they will meet their ability on the questions.
I really like STAR assessments. I do wish, however, that they did have questions read to kindergarten because most of the questions are too hard for them to read.
I have not had any issues with the STAR assessments. I think that they are very active on fixing everything as it approaches. Great work!
The precision of the test material is anchored to the standards that a student of the grade level where belongs.
Nothing! It is just as perfect as the assessment is anchored to the academic standards.
The problem of students when it comes to Math. It helps me to do the right way to help my students.
The most helpful aspect of the STAR assessments is the STAR Reading Instructional Plan ing Report. This report aids me in making curricular decisions and guides my targeted instruction.
The least helpful aspect of the STAR assessment is the lack of parent buy-in. I wish there was a more friendly and media driven way to entice parents to see the benefits of this program.
For those considering Renaissance Star Assessments, don't hesitate. It is a quick way to gauge student reading needs, improvement and all at a simple glance.
After recent matters our students have exhibited a definite learning loss. That said, STAR has allowed us to hone i. On struggling areas and attack the issues head on.
STAR assessments pinpoint reading deficits and help me align instruction with student needs. STAR assessments help me get an accurate independent reading level for my students and track reading progress throughout the year.
STAR reports can take some time to learn and sometimes data isn't the easiest to find or in a format that can be shared easily with parents.
STAR is easy to use and provides a lot of valuable data in a time-effective way. I highly recommend STAR assessments and find they are a practical and indispensable part of my teaching assessments.
STAR solves my problems of benchmark testing in Reading and Math and progress monitoring throughout the year. With STAR CBM, I can monitor oral reading fluency and rapid naming task ability.
The Renaissance STAR Assessments are crucial to my ability to not only see students' reading needs as a whole class, but it is also crucial for seeing what individual students' needs are. A STAR Assessment helps me identify critical areas where a child may be struggling and how to best meet their needs in order to see growth.
The program is easy to use and full of data. My only dislike is that I would like for there to be a way for students to log in and see their data and see their growth. I can show them the reports, but my students are mature enough that they want to know if they exceeded the last benchmark and have grown.
The biggest problems that STAR Assessments help me solve is knowing specific items to review with students who are not showing growth or who are showing very little growth. The STAR Student Instructional Planning report shows weaknesses and areas that can be focused on in order to help a student become a better reader.
I enjoy the quick feedback, recommendations on how to help individual students as well as grouping the students with similar needs.
