The best thing about QGIS is it is open source GIS platform. If you know about using plugins in QGIS, then it can be handy to use than high-priced paid software, e.g., ArcGIS. It is easy to install as you do not need any licensing and a standalone software that does not need to manage different parts, e.g., ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox as it is in ArcGIS.
Usually, people get used to with ArcGIS software, that's why the capability of QGIS is undermined. The interface of QGIS may seem a bit confusing if you are migrating from ArcGIS; however, once you get habituated, you will feel empowered with the unlimited possibilities of open-source GIS software.
It helps in preparing both vector and raster datasets, preparing maps, analyzing data and even with its plugins, I can make interactive maps that can be hosted on external servers.
The best point is QGIS directly connected to google earth and open street map. Thus, very easy to import a different kind of information from these sites.
Attribute information is not easy to handle.
Water resources management purposes.

Freely available, regularly updated and packed full of basic and intermediate features. Having a plugin toolkit lets me extend it with thousands of other advanced features.
A large installer and sometimes early release versions (not long term stable ones) are a little buggy, but it's part of the process.
Having access to my own toolset as a geographer, cartographer and data analyst helps me run as a business or for nonprofit friend projects.
The user interface is very good and easy to use. Tools are very easily accessible . The plugins available are very good and makes the work very easy like geo referencing tool is very good.
Sometime it crashes while using more than three plugins. The derectory files sometime didn't get saved and the software crashes. To run the software it needs the c drive path which sometimes gets hectic!!
Best Software to use multiple plugins and for GIS
I am using it for my projects of Geo Information System (GIS) . It is helping me to do it like bread butter with the help of plugins. Its very benficial for geographic maping .
Powerful open-source geoprocessing with a clean and intuitive user interface. Advanced geoprocessing and digitizing tools make producing valuable geographic analysis a breeze.
Sometimes it is difficult to diagnose errors based on the provided documentation. Updated error code documentation on the online help portal would be appreciated.
If you plan on using this software an understanding of geoprocessing and GIS applications is a must.
QGIS makes it easy to turn geographic data into clean and beautiful diagrams and maps. Our communications are much more effective when integrated into our workflows.
It has a very easy-to-use user interface. And also it has got a large userforum with solutions available.
Has Pythons interface as well to perform data analysis.
The downside would be that it gets lots of updates which is good but then the tools change with respect to the version.
Every time it updates i have to reinstall the addins
Spatial analysis of data. It helps in the analysis of a huge amount of data spatially with less time.
It helps me be more efficient and productive. Time saving is a big plus point
It's community support and the simplicity to run several spatial operations.
It's uninstalling process when you want to update to a newer version.
Start with QGIS and, only if you find a specific limitation met only by ESRI's alternative, consider buying it.
Utility Scale Solar Project's site assessment. The main benefit besides being open-source is the amount of information and extensions available online.
Very easy to use and doesn't use as much processing power as other GIS software.
Some features may not be as good or complex as other GIS software for complicated procedures
Free and easy to download. Recommended for sure!
I have used GIS mainly for mapping, for example mapping air quality in a city

I like multiple features of Qgis, but the best part I like is that we can add plugins in Qgis and make our work easier. It is very user-friendly, and the feature edit option is the best.
So far, I have not faced any problems with Qgis although there could be improvements in the processing time and speed of the loading the map layers.
Qgis helps me update attributes of map features in the shapefile layer and analyze them with the help of multiple plugins like Streetview, open street maps, etc. It helps me in quality-checking of our database and making updates accordingly.
