Qbench is easy to navigate. Any change that we ask for, the Qbench team is quick to help us the best they can.
I have yet to find something I dislike about Qbench.
Qbench is able to catorgize the hundreds of samples we receive weekly, in a simple easy to read way. It makes looking up information on samples only a few clicks away.
How user-friendly and modular it is. It is easy to create, adjust, and make changes. The ease of use compared to other LIMS systems makes it stand out.
Either you need some programming experience, or you need to have Qbench create report templates. However, they often develop new features to allow users to do more themselves.
We can add the instruments and their schedules/logs, decreasing the need for manual logbooks. It is all browser supported, so there isn't a lag while trying to create/adjust/report. As we're still in the construction phase, we have to change locations, and it is effortless to add new locations and link them under the parent location so nothing is lost.
As someone who uses QBench on a daily basis, there are many things I like about the system. First, QBench is highly customizable. This allows you to define your workflows instead of having the software company define a strict set of workflows for you that may not be exactly what you need. Also, the customer support has been very responsive and helpful, and they have an API that is easy to use and allows for integration of outside automations and data analysis using data that you have stored in their system.
Bulk actions in the system take awhile to reflect in the UI. It would be nice to see some speed improvements to cut down on this loading time.
Along with standard LIMS features, Qbench stands apart from the competition in allowing us to solve the problem of test progress obscurity in our buisness. With Qbench, we are able to ensure that zero tests get overlooked, which is an impressive feat for a high throughput laboratory doing many assays. This is something we struggled with using other LIMS providers.
QBench ties together all aspects of our business as a private testing lab. It's our primary database for pendings tests, tracking customers, and automation.
It does not cover all of our lab needs, and occasionally there are some fairly simple features that are missing, but the team is pushing new features regularly. One example that comes to mind is the ability to do bulk actions on a variety of data types (e.g. batches).
Tracking our customer orders, what tests to run, who will be running the tests, the status of tests, generation of reports, access for customers to reports in the customer portal. We also use it to track documents (approvals, etc.), equipment (status and maintenance schedules), and corrective/preventive actions.
Visibility. Between the infinitely customizable dashboard and the distinct order, sample and test level views. You can see what's going on in your workflow quickly and easily. The dynamic search functions, with the funnels, mean you are never more than a few key strokes from the data you need. The communication and support from their team, means you can have an answere to a question in real time.
I don't have much to say in tearms of a true negative. Their passion in iteration, has been a net positive for us. Whenever there seems to be a limit in a function of Qbench. They are constantly adjusting the system to meet our needs. I would say that the weekest point of Qbench, is that they have not figured how to read our minds. At least not yet.
Comprehensive data / information management. Daily sample data customer date. QC and data analytics.
I like that q bench is very organized. It makes my work much easier.
Qbench doesn't always show when my tests are completed, it will still say my tests in progress when there is nothing left.
Productivity.
QBench is incredibly flexible. We have a fairly complex lab with a huge set of variables. Additionally we are constantly making changes to improve and automate our processess which forces changes to how we use QBench. Since we started, the team at Qbench has gone out of their way to say yes to the changes that we have needed. They have helped us problem solve and been extremely patient as we navigated our way through this process. The Customer Portal is also a huge asset for us. Our customers are saying that it looks good, but more importantly that it is easy to use. The fact that we can onboard a company in half an hour is very helpful.
It is a very robust system so the only downside is that we are still learning all of it's functionality.
We seperate each sample for testing on at least 10 different machines. Qbench allows us to barcode each sub sample and keep track of them as they go through the lab. With the new spreadsheet features we are also able to use Qbench to give us an overall picture of production in the lab at a glance on a real time basis. Also the ease of creating Certificates of Analysis is very helpful.
The team at q bench has continuously worked with my lab to improve the LIMS system to improve efficiency, sample/data tracailbity and turn around time.
Just the traffic of having our entire lab on the same server that can cause some lag on uploading data or integration
sample tracilbity and ease of access to data for review
How easy it is to upload samples using an Excel template. The interface of the system is user friendly and for the most part self explanatory. I mostly only work with entering samples not uploading data or reporting out of Qbench. Customer support is great too!
We are trying to roll out QBench for all our clients to report directly through QB but we are still working on some issues because we are a cannabis lab so we have to find work arounds for certain testing and reporting.
Reporting directly from QB rather than using Google Sheets for reporting. Helps streamline.

The QBench team is very responsive and will work with you to customize the platform to fit your needs.
Making formatting changes to templates and reports may require some programming knowledge, otherwise the QBench support team will need to help you.
QBench provided a platform for us to track and trace our orders and samples. We have many different teams all working on the same orders simultaneously and we can easily monitor the progress of our orders so that we can deliver on time. QBench also is a platform with complete traceability which signficantly improved our quality management system and data logging efficiency.
