"Excellent file drop box for ERP files"
What do you like best about Pydio?

Files sync quickly and easily from our ERP, and it has an outstanding file organization system.

What do you dislike about Pydio?

The user interface is a little dated and could be more modern.

What problems is Pydio solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use it to sync files from our Banner ERP, like automated job outputs. It makes it easy for end-users to access these files.

"UI Looks Nice, but Product is Not Stable or Mature"
What do you like best about Pydio?

From the end-user perspective, the product looks polished and user-friendly.

What do you dislike about Pydio?

From the admin perspective, the product is brittle and hard to configure.

- UI text for English was written by a non-native speaker, so it often reads strangely or doesn't make sense to end-users. It looks sloppy if the product is being used in a professional setting.

- Even the smallest misconfiguration can take down the entire system, and the error messages that it produces don't provide enough detail about the root cause.

- Often you have to dig into the source code to diagnose the issue yourself.

Recommendations to others considering Pydio:

Don't use Pydio 8 unless you are a PHP developer or have one on your team. The product is not stable enough for it to be easy for you to administer without getting your hands dirty in the code.

Pydio Cells -- their newest product offering -- looks simpler and promising, but it's not yet proven and doesn't have enough features yet. It's also written in a completely different language -- Go.

What problems is Pydio solving and how is that benefiting you?

Trying to provide a cloud-based file storage solution similar to DropBox that runs on our own premise/infrastructure.
