The best part about Windchill is the ease in manitaining the lifecycle of a product through Change Request Change Notice and Non Change Controlled Change Notice process.

Windchill needs to create an automated system in order to send reminder to the task approvers as per the timer setup by the Change owner.

PTC Windchill helps in maintaining the lifecycle of a product and link all the related documents to a SKU to the part object. This helps me in easy tracking of the SKU. Additionally whenever there is a change in the documentation related to a SKU the product owners are also informed about the same through Windchill.

Price for PTC PLM Premium is somewhat high than other Product Mangaement solutions.

Creation of WT parts is must to create Windchill BOM.

Customer support service need to improve as their response is very poor.

Best thing about wind chill is that it belongs to PTC, which is having Best Design Softwares like CREO wildfire which can be connected with windchill and all drawing, 3D cad, Part codes, Their ECN, promotion can be connected well. You can also manage assembly cad BOM here.

When I open a part in windchill and want to see it's 3D CAD then use that particular cad file will be downloaded and then can be opened in CREO. But there is alternate of that, you can open windchill directly in CREO and then cad can be opened in same window

I use this tool for overall project management, ECN management, Part code creation, their review and promotion. There is no need for a server to store my data and same would have required if all cad, drawings and other project related documents. I upload all project related documents like FMEA, Project development schedule, Design review documents etc.
