I'm really surprised by the negative reviews here. I have had the free account and the Mail Plus account for a total of about eight or nine years. I originally got it as a psychologist who has needs for secure email. I've recommended this to other psychologists who are not very tech savvy, but they found it easy to use.

I've had occasional problems with payment and with access, but contrary to other reports here, tech support was very responsive and got the problem resolved quickly. My most recent interaction with tech support was just a few weeks ago.

I haven't tried all the bells and whistles, but I did find their Proton Drive to be somewhat clumsy to use. When you need a file from it, you have to download it manually. This is in contrast to One Drive or Google Drive, which can be set up for direct access. Still, it is handy to have if you need to store some sensitive files that don't need to be accessed often.

Overall, I'm very happy with Protonmail and highly recommend it.

I have been using Proton Mail for six months, and the experience has been amazing. It's super secure and ideal for managing multiple accounts. With the Proton Unlimited plan, I can set up several email addresses, which helps keep different parts of my life sorted. While managing a bunch of emails can feel chaotic, the folder and label system makes it a breeze to sort and find messages.

I also love its end-to-end encryption and zero-access encryption, so I know that every email I send is secure. Plus, the alias feature is good for creating temporary email addresses, which is super useful when I need to sign up for new services or avoid spam. Thanks Proton for the great service!

Very easy to setup and decently secure by default, the fact that it is free and isn't gmail is also a huge bonus, I would like to see some post-quantum encryption from Proton though since they claim to be Swiss scientists.

Proton mail is hands down the best mail service provider I have used.

I have previously tried, in vain, to organise my inbox with the likes of Google, ( who help themselves to your personal data). And outlook (Which comes with a plethora of technical issue).

Proton, allows you to sign up with different types of service e.g. bank, personal and subscription with different address and automatically send them to a corresponding folder. I have leveled up my organisation game already and I still haven't explored all of the features.

I previously used the free plan, but decided to try out mail plus, its worth it, be good to your self, switch to proton.

The customer service team go above and beyond to help you; I feel valued as a customer.

Oh and you can rest easy knowing your most important documents are in safe hands. I personally login using a fido key, so, yep pretty secure.

It works great for what I need to do (just read and send emails). No ads disguised as emails. The system also has strong privacy features and checks emails for dangerous files or attachments. The storage space that they provide is more than adequate for my daily email needs. Overall, considering that they are not a gigantic company I've been really impressed with the platform.

Great Domain

I've tried many Email providing services through the years (both free and paid) but none of them worked properly, that's why I kept searching for a better one and I'm so happy I found ProtonMail as it works great for me.

Helped me take the plunge and de-clutter my email experience.

Using Proton I was able to connect my other email addresses (Gmail) and keep track of junk email (promotions, subscribe lists, old newsletters) that I never opened anyway.

Their "Unsubscribe" button works wonders, and as an added bonus, I am now feeling much more secure about my data being protected on the internet.
