I like best that I can build my own processes. I like the system being customizable and user-friendly.
I wish there was a better transition to Excell or word and some better reporting options.
Learning and setting up the system takes time and needs resources; however, once you know the basic functions, it is very customizable.
Propel moved us from a paper base QMS to an electronic one, which made the control and accecability of the records and documents significantly better.
Also, by using customizations, process rules and more, it helps ensuring that diferent process inclused all the steps and information to comply with the regulatory requirements.
I really like the collaboration aspect of chatter. It has enabled us to revise typos and minor edits on the fly, when change is in approval process.
We're using an older version and bulk change is not working. Can't wait to see the upgrade.
Implementing the next version, working with our IT dept.
Our end-user experience is top notch with Propel. As a company, our output has increased due to the systems features and integration to other modules. As an admin, it is nice to have a customer support team like you have at Propel to help us through our day to day activities, upgrades or implementing new modules. We cannot wait to grow as a company with Propel as our eQMS!
It takes awhile to separate what is Propel specific from Salesforce native. It's a learning curve!
We are able to control our documents all in one system and assist in going paperless in many ways.
The interface is modern, looks great, and it is easy to naviga.
The customization part take a bit of time to learn. The licence option is a bit confusing.
Great Platforn for tracking changes and all aspect to comply with ISO 13485 requirements.
Propel is a very configurable solution that we have been able to tailor very nicely to our unique needs and to create workflows and data structures to support and facilitate our business processes. Having all the functionality of a QMS and PLM in a single solution provides great data continuity across the solution. Further, having it built on Salesforce allows for a customer-centric QMS/PLM if Salesforce CRM is also used. This is very unique and just how a QMS/PLM should be.
The configurability of Propel is a bit of a double-edged sword. It is a great strength but does require the user community and IT admin at a company to really think through what is being built to ensure it is appropriate and scalable. The only core part of Propel we have found lacking is the training module. Propel offers read and understand training to documents with a quiz but is not a full blown LMS solution with engaging training content or SCORM capabilities.
We use Propel to manage our Document Control and PLM, Complaints and Adverse Event reporting, Calibration and Maintenance of Equipment, CAPA & NC, Supplier Management, Read & Understand training, and audit management.
There are so many helpful features! Lately I've been enjoying the projects module for managing our phase-gate processes for product development.
The email notification system is my least favorite aspect. Emails and reminder emails should be easier to manage. It feels a little all over the place.
Propel is solving the problem with MPN by implementing the Silicon Experts integration. This is going to be a very valuable feature that we look forward to using.
PROS: Arena is great software for Product Lifecycle Management. This software allows you to control BOM (Bill of Material), changes and processes. It is easy to use and cost-effective solution. Arena provides you with multiple features for managing the product life-cycle and provides you with collaboration with vendors and CM (Contact Manufacturers). The software integrates with ERP packages and NetSuite. What’s more, if you want to implement a PLM solution at Start-up or SME (Small & Medium sized companies) this software is great option.
CONS: In my opinion, they need to work on their marketing strategies. With all of these options they offer, they could take #1 position in their area.
It is entirely built on Salesforce, which makes it very customizable.
The data model is very complex, and some junctions are generated via Apex, making the mapping even more difficult. To support the complexity of the solution, there are many custom components that were built. This makes the administration different than what you would generally do in Salesforce. Not an issue if you've mainly worked in Propel, but some of our more experienced Salesforce Admin need to change their mindset.
Having the PLM on the same platform as many of our other systems (Salesforce) makes the administration much more straightforward. It reduces the number of integration points that need to be managed. We now have a full 360 view of our products from conception to support/quality.
Our ERP and CPQ are on the Salesforce platform, so we needed a tool to manage Product data and documents in a multi-company design. Propel was a natural fit for us to single-source and harmonize our product dataset on the Salesforce platform. We now have a line of sight to all Quoted and Sold products throughout their product lifecycle.
Defining the Product Category Hierarchies is a little clunky and does not migrate well from Sandbox to Production environments. However- that is being very picky. There is not a lot of downside to this purpose-build application.
If you are using the Salesforce platform and need to centralize your Product data for multiple down stream systems (ERP, CPQ, QMS, etc..), Propel is the perfect fit.
We needed to single-sourcing product data and documents in a multi-company design. We can quickly set up and maintain product data in our ERP and CPQ using one system- no dual entry.
