We can do pretty much everything we need to in Planning Center: planning worship services (the original), data management, groups management, giving, communication, calendar and building management, event sign up... it pretty much does it all.
I wish that Planning Center had a "Daily Digest" email feature that would send folks a daily round up of what happened on Church Center that day. That would pretty much make it perfect for us.
It helps us keep our folks' information up to date and helps us understand folks involvements via lists and stuff.
I love that Planning Center People is a one-stop shop for our church database. It allows me to pull data from a wide array of data sets and create my own rules when necessary.
Planning Center People takes quite a bit of time to get set up to use it to its full extent. The "List" tab which allows you to run your data based off of rules can get very confusing.
Planning Center allows our church to keep track of and monitor our congregation's interaction with our church. We can quickly and easily see who, for how long, and what a person has attended.
Planning Center People has become our database for all things at the church. Every department in our church uses this consistently. We track EVERYTHING in this program. I don't know where we would be without it.
I guess my biggest complaint would be how long it can take to export a PDF of a list. For instance, if I wanted to make a list of everybody who had attended a Wed night class last year, it can take up to 20 minutes sometimes to email me a PDF or excel doc of the list.
It keeps everything centralized. We used to have multiple databases at the church and the information often was not consistent. Utilizing PCO People has helped us so much!!!
The program has plenty of flexibility to customize options that make organization simple.
Running reports take a bit to get used to.
People has made it much more effective in keeping track of a growing congregation
I am the pastor of a church of less than 75 people and the balance is always figuring out what the best use of my time will be and how much technology to integrate. Planning Center People is designed to be simple and helpful even if it is used for minimal purposes. My favorite portion is actually how easy it is to integrate with Checkr background checks in order to stay up to date with our volunteers.
Because of the amount of time I have to devote to it, I have yet to go in-depth into everything that is offered to us. With more time I would like to take advantage of more aspects.
The main problem is simply keeping track of people and their contact information and making sure everything is up to date continually. With background checks being one simple click away, it saves me so much time and energy and gives me the peace of mind I need.
The best thing I like about Planning Center People is that it is super easy to create tags and group people into specific teams. For Sunday services, I have an AV Team, Vocalists, Band, and Livestream with multiple people who rotate from week to week. Planning Center People helps me schedule specific people within each service template and email/text them as a reminder. Additionally, they can either confirm or decline their scheduled notification which in turn notifies me of their availability to serve.
One of the things that I do not like about Planning Center People is that I cannot link attachments to emails when I am contacting my teams. I would love this functionality to be added.
The problems that Planning Center People helps me solve are coordinating, scheduleing, and communicating with my teams. One of the best features about Planning Center People is that you can look at the schedule history of each person and determine how often you want them to be scheduled. This functionality helps me not to overschedule my volunteers.
Planning Center People allows our ministry to connect with members, visitors, volunteers, and staff through seamless integration with an app. Additionally, we can sort the various stakeholders into specific groups according to our ministry organization, allowing for targeted communication and engagement.
There is very little to dislike about Planning Center People, except for the fact that whenever it's down for maintenance (which is rare), much of our work comes to a halt.
Planning Center People has helped our ministry solve the problem of gathering feedback from all our members into one location. The Forms feature allows us to create highly specific forms for any occation and launch them digitally.
Ease of use with a lot of flexibility and it is free. I created a whole database with custom tabs and the ability to search what was created for w couple different organizations. It was easy to setup and the struggling user could navigate it pretty easily. All permission based.
I haven't found anything yet in this module, except for a couple of preference tweaks in custom tabs. I wish it had a few more options when creating custom fields.
Providing a database solution for the budget-minded organization. The best part it is really easy to use and teach others who struggle with technology. I have seniors using the system and they can actually navigate it no problem.
People give us a location to organize all of our volunteers and attendees in one place. We can input all the information that we can retrieve from those willing to share it. Then whether we need that info for services or check-ins it is there are ready.
I wish there was a way for mass messaging from the People software for events or anything else needed. Also, a better way of customizing reports throughout the Planning Center software would be helpful.
Just be sure that you have all of the informatioin beforehand because it is harder to go back and gather all of that information afterward.
We can keep everyone's information in one secure location, and when needed, it is easily accessed no matter the person's place. It is an online database that stores the information so it is available when away from the office.

The ease with which it communicates with other Planning Center modules, the cost, and the support team! There is no substitute for using Planning Center for your church management database.
Nothing. Anytime that I have an issue, the support team is there to help. Most of the time they have my issue resolved in less than an hour, and if it takes longer than that it is because it is a very rare issue. They have never let me down, and take feature requests for improvement very seriously.
We previously used a database management software that was cumbersome and difficult for lay-people to use. We have many volunteers that help with our church, and this has made it easy for them to understand where to find the information they need. Our staff is also able to complete more of the database tasks because it is so simple to use and understand. Plus, using this in combination with other PCO products is very powerful to keep all of our tools and resources aligned in one system.
