Just about anyone can set up a check in event. And checking in people is very simple. I especially like that it checks volunteers for background checks when you mark it required.
I wish there was more customization available for the recurrence of the events.
The price and ease of use should sell itself.
We know exactly what children are in the building and can easily call for a parent if needed. For adult events, it's nice to finally have accurate attendance numbers.
It helps to check in so much faster than what we used to have. It also allows us to control attendance (due to COVID related restrictions, we can't have one child above the limit). Analytics help as well.
We would like an option to assign kids to a single location and not allow them to change it (even though they may meet the requirements for another location… we have 4 rooms for same age kids and we want to have a single teacher to look after them and follow their learning process for a whole year).
We did solve the issue by using registrations, but that requires extra work from our side, and to pay another subscription.
Before Check-ins, we did everything by hand. That included registering every child and parent by hand and it took a very long time for children to enter (20-30 minute wait time). We now have 7 unmanned stations and wait times are almost non-existant
Its fast, you can create as many stations as you need (every smartphone can transform into one station), and it is so versatile that any station can print in any printer in the network so, even if one printer has an issue, you can solve things on the go. Planning Center support time is one of the best of the world. They have a great help center, and their support team is knowledgeable, and replies much faster than you expect (even via email).
Absolutely nothing, I love Check-ins as much as you can love a piece of software… the only thing I dislike is that their marketing didn't reach us sooner. The faster we made the switch, the better.
Its fast! We have 7 services each weekend with an average attendance of about 200 kids each. Before check-ins we would give each child a numbered bracelet, another for the parent, and have them register (by hand!) on a paper form. Parents would need to wait for about 30 minutes before their kids could go inside.
The ease of use of the Check-in system allows it to be used by the families rather than having a volunteer or employee stationed at the check-in location. Also, you can be mobile with the system as long as you can print the labels. And the Bluetooth printers that are compatible make this a possibility easily.
There are times that the system can be bogged down because it requires constant internet access. So if are having connection issues on a certain day then you won't be able to use the system to its full advantage.
Make sure when you are inputting the information for kids and families that you get all their information. The more you get the better and you can never have too much information.
This gives us a one-stop location for check-in and allows us to have more than one spot to check-in during Sundays or Wednesdays. Also, with the large campus, we have the ability to check-in at any entrance.
I love the user-friendliness of the application as well as the user interface of the web software. It is so easy and quick to make changes or update things on the fly in the middle of events.
I always have a hard time of making new label printers easily communicate with tablets. I wish it was literally plug and play, or that Check-in/PCO would suggest which is the easiest printer to buy.
We are solving the problem of checking in and keeping track of over 175 students a night. We are also solving the problem of gathering said students' info and the info of their parents. We have been able to easily identify students who have dipped in regular attendance, as well as established connections with parents we wouldn't have before.
Ease of use and helpful articles and contact team.
We struggle to differentiate between children and volunteers who are checking in.
Safety for our children on Sunday mornings is a top priorty and PCO Check-Ins allows us to know which children are present and when they have left.
This works in conjuction with our existing Planning Center services and people apps. We like that we can schedule messages through this and also use self check in stations or mobile printer stations for check in purposes. You can also set this up to use as a check in for special events.
I really wish there was a better reporting function that would allow us to build our own custome reports. I would also like for there to be a way to make some certian cells when filling out information for the first time to be required. Like parents phone or email address.
Make sure you input as much information as possible during first set up.
This has allowed us to streamline our check in system to be used easily alongside our other systems that use Planning Center.
I love how easy planning center check inns is to use for our volunteer teams. It takes a lot of data that we pull from planning center registrations and compiled into a very easy to see and easy to use system that a volunteer can manage or honestly we could use with a tablet check in system for those checking in individually.
I wish there were ways to customize the check in system to where users could check in on their phone as they enter the building. Maybe there isn’t what I just don’t understand it or know it yet.
This is a great tool to implement especially if you were using planning center registrations. It makes event registration and management so easy it’s an excellent tool.
With COVID-19 we need a way to get our people to register for our Sunday morning services. This was going to enable us to have safety while monitoring numbers in our building. Check inns provided an easy way to manage those numbers and follow up with those who attended our gatherings.
This check in softwares is hassle-free and user friendly. It takes only a few minutes to check a new family in, which makes a great first impression!
It updates constantly, making it buggy sometimes. It’s not very compatible with Dymo label printers.
This increases the safety of our Kid’s ministry. The matching stickers make sure that each child goes to the right parent and easily identifies them and any allergies they have.

PCO Check-ins is an intuitive and simple solution for checking in children for our worship gatherings at church. It is easy to train volunteers, and it is easy to equip parents with understanding for quick and easy return check-ins after a relatively simple first check-in.
The scalability of the pricing structure is arbitrary and doesn't fit our church's size very well, but it's worth the slightly extra cost for ease-of-use and security.
PCO Check-ins allows us to easily check in children for worship gatherings. It has solved the bottle-neck of our check-in hub by speeding up the process of checking in returning children. It is easy to set up and easy to show volunteers, so that folks are able to get effectively trained quickly.
