The change of authentication is a serious concern. If I have replaced my phone and multifactor authentication is enabled, it is tough to change the authentication mode. Even though it aids in the security aspect of changing the authentication, it should provide the user with the ease to replace the device for authentication.

There aren't any problems faced with Ping, but the getting adapted to the new console was little challenging. Benefits is that the SSO has become way more easier than before.

The main disadvantage of SSO is in its use of one set of credentials, if those credentials are not protected correctly and are stolen the thief has access to your entire kingdom.

Companies should always use a 2nd factor to login to SSO (at the very less), companies who take security seriously will use multi factor authentication (MFA).

Few bugs can be annoying and have to reach the customer care

Mostly using IdP and SP initiated applications. SSO flow is easy to track and any unsuccessful connections can be easily identified through logs. Mobile applications using OAuth refresh tokens makes it easy to keep apps logged in safe.
