Ping Identity is super easy to use and configure; their support team has helped us with any issues we've had during setup and also provided excellent support during that process and afterward as well. We've implemented MFA on our windows 10 laptops which has helped us become NIST certified in the process.
The interface for the windows login could be quicker on first sign on, implementing yubikeys with ping could be a more friendlier process as well as some of our employees are not used to setting up MFA on their devices and requires more support than expected.
We've resolved our problem of not being NIST compliant and have also alleviated our password reset policy thanks to MFA and being able to authenticate from our phones/yubikeys has been helpful for ease of use as well.
Good support for standards and a well designed API. Very stable and performant. Good enterprise features including clustering/failover. Once configured properly, the software works very well.
OAuth connection configurations can be confusing, the way in which attribute contracts are fulfilled can be a little difficult to understance. The documentation on the site often has dead internal links.
Ensure that your use cases are well defined and leverage the experience of an identity consultant.
Identity Federation using SAML and OAuth
I like the ease of implementation and the support that we get from the Engineering Team, and staff. It also makes a huge difference when the log files contain a wide variety of information.
The one thing that they could improve on is after hours contact support when there is an outage. All in all its good, and I've been able to work through it.
The number one thing I love is the support of the Engineering and Architecture team. You don't get this from any other vendor, especially after you are in production and the initial implementation phase is over.
We are using Pingfederate for employee authentication. Its reusability, logs, apis as well as the certificate management out weigh any other application that I have worked with.
MFA and Single sign on. I also like the ability to use token from many MFA providers.
Seamless integration with other IAM and SSO products.
team collaboration and ease of user managment
Support for their products is amazing. Break/fix tickets get the utmost attention with their support team but even when I just needed some guidance their engineers have been more than willing to engage and give their expertise.
Cost is products is not cheap but for good reason I guess, their products do what they say they can do. So many vendors make promises and then don't deliver. Not the case with Ping, PingIdentity delivers!
Single Sign-On, alternate Identity Stores and MFA. Last month PingFederate saved us over 1.2 million logons, with the average logon taking 15 seconds or more, we are saving the business tons of precious time.
Support is excellent. Product is super flexible.
The deployment options are a little behind the competition but this also plays to Enterprises that are and will be in a hybrid disposition for some time. They are starting to offer full SaaS now.
Authentication, Authorization, and Provisioning problems using open standards but also other complicated authentication scenarios due to PingFederate's flexibility. We are leveraging it for Internal employees and customers.
Ping utilizes open standards that help increase its interoperability with other applications. This use of open standards and overall stability makes it an excellent platform to base user authentication upon. The provided upgrade utility makes upgrades easy to perform. The professional services group from Ping have also been excellent and have been a true partner during implementation and other additional projects.
Upgrades of PingFederate can be a bit of a hassle since major upgrades need to be done at the same time, meaning that you can not run mixed mode servers in the same cluster to make zero downtime upgrades easier. There are ways to achieve this, but there are some hoops to jump through. Latest versions do allow for minor revisions to be upgraded with this zero downtime approach though so progress is being made.
Ping Identity makes useful products that work as advertised. Their commitment to open standards make them suitable to solve most use cases that you may have.
Ping Identity helps us solve use cases with OAuth and SAML as well as providing single sign on for a variety of applications we use. We have also solved MFA use cases with PingOne and PingID as well.
PingFederate's ease of use (including setup and configuration etc.,) coupled with its ability to seamlessly integrate federation with other identity providers makes it the most preferred/"go to" choice for customers globally.
I have been using this product since 6 years and I found it only advantages and there is nothing to dislike about it.
saml, ws-fed and oAuth related
Simplicity to get the platform up and running. The level of creativity you leverage to achieve complex goals.
Support site, and documentation. If you find a useful article\document print it as a PDF. Links and content change at break neck pace.
Generally a great product to work with. Only changes I faced are with documentation\support portal.
Making IAM simple for applications, solving complicated modern day IAM needs.

We are currently in the process of replacing our existing physical token vendor with a Multi-Factor authentication solution from Ping Identity. The ability to use PingID push MFA was a requirement with the recent cases of Smishing (SMS Phishing) being conducted by bad actors. Another benefit is that we no longer have to deal with distribution of physical token devices and expiring tokens.
In some rare cases, the user receives a timeout message from the app and is unable to authenticate (possible due to bad cellular coverage), otherwise it as been a smooth rollout.
Ping Identity has many setup documents including a hardening guide for MFA. It includes best practices when setting up the PingID application configuration.
We implemented a daily Heath attestation app utilizing PingID for authentication to a corporate workforce of over 18,000 employees.
