Pleased so far

I was surprised by the bad reviews on a similar site and wanted to compare with Patreon. Now I'm just as surprised by the bad reviews on Patreon, which I've only had good experiences with for the time being - now for a couple of years.

honestly, I don't understand why all these negative reviews, our magazine has been funded through Patreon since 2014 and we have never had a single problem; We highly recommend this site as a platform for all creators to create recurring content :)

What do you like best about Patreon?

-Flexible posting options (from podcasting to text to images, etc)

-Low monthly fees/losses (I joined early at an early tier, though, before they started their current sillier payment solution)

-Well-known (so users aren't scared of signing up)

-Marketplace lets me also look for other creators who are doing interesting things

-Secure and private messaging options to keep in touch with patrons

-Integrates with a number of other software options--for example, whenever I get a new patron Patreon notifies my Bonjoro, which then lets me send them a video message as a thank-you

What do you dislike about Patreon?

-Apparently if you join now, you're given payment options that make you lose more money than if you joined when I did. If I were new, that would make me consider another service, perhaps like Payhip, which I can run myself.

-They got rid of the Goals tier, which I thought was helpful for motivating patrons (but that's okay)

What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?

Like everyone else who uses Patreon, I need a monthly solution that allows me to collect fees from users while providing them monthly support.

A generous refund!

Yippie :) I got a refund from them after I was charged for a monthly renewal to a creator. As it was my first time using patreon I didn't know it was an auto-renewal and because the creator is inactive, I kinda panicked with no way to ask them for a refund personally.

But, I contacted patreon and they issued me a refund, which was really, extremely generous and kind because they really didn't have to.

Fun to use and very helpful

As a creator I find this platform has a really interesting set up that I find fun using and creating on. It's really helped me to make something into something more and be supported doing it which has really helped.

I just came to trust pilot to check…

I just came to trust pilot to check alternatives for patreon as they do not allow people to sell products but only month packages.

And I saw everyone (BMC or GUROAD) have awful reviews so I went to see what reviews Patreon has. I couldn't believe my eyes. I have been a creator on patreon with 3 different accounts and all 3 got verified in matter of days. Never had any issue to contact support. Honestly I have tried buymeacoffee and they just decided to take my money and refund it all without any explanation except 'we are small comapny if anyone of our big partners wants us to cancell you we have to do it' literally those words. But patreon never had done anything wrong for me. You are getting this from the first hand.

Love Patreon no problems in years

I've been using Patreon for years now and I'm very surprised about these negative reviews.
True, their customer service isn't fast and it can be better, but they're a young start-up trying their best and doing great things to help creators too.
The content is great and the membership works fine. If you become a member by accident or want to cancel and can't find it you can always ask the creator to refund you. It will immediately cancel your membership instantly. And you'll get all your money back.
I've tried it and it works fine.
I'm a fan and will stay there for sure. Also talk to the creator if something isn't how you want it. They're also eager to help.
