Intuitive User Interface, Effective Meeting Facilitation, Seamless Jira Integration, Comprehensive Retrospective Templates
Limited Task Management Capabilities, Confusing Email Notifications, Lack of Integration with Other Project Management Tools, Occasional Minor Bugs
User reviews of Parabol are overwhelmingly positive, praising its intuitive interface, ease of use, and effectiveness for conducting retrospectives and sprint planning meetings. They particularly appreciate the variety of templates, anonymous feedback features, and the helpful email summaries generated after each meeting. However, some users expressed a desire for more extensive task management features and enhanced integration with other project management tools. A recurring suggestion was the ability to tailor email summaries to specific participants, rather than sending them to everyone.

We have been using Parabol for retro & pokering meetings for over two years now in different projects. Everyone who has worked with the tool always comments on the ease of use, the smooth user experience and the way it enables interaction within the team.
So far, we haven't found any downsides to using Parabol.
We started using Parabol as a retrospective meeting tool at first. We loved the interaction, the fact that it guides you through the meeting, and that you can have anonymous comments and votes.
After a successful first use of the retro meeting templates, Parabol then released the sprint pokering meeting template. This was the best addition they could have done! We absolutely love the integration with Jira where we can search for tickets, add them to the stories we need to poker, and then the team can just read a short description and click through to the story from within the tool. Another cool feature is that any estimates are synced automatically to the correct field in Jira. This is a huge timesaver for us!
Great UX - super clear. Process intuitive, with a fun element, easy to implement with the team. We use it as part of our scum ceremonies on frequent base
Allow teams to have open and not biased dialog
actually pretty happy with the tool, might be manage email notification not only on personal but also on team/org level will be useful
Great friendly tool, used it mainly to manage teams or features retrospective; widely used by teams as part of scrum ceremonies; some teams started using it also estimation functionality. Important - even the dev team resistant to tools use love to work with Parabol
There are endless meeting formats to leverage which unique outcomes. It really helps consolidate feedback and decisions among teams.
Nothing really - Its really helpful daily in our team
We use Parabol primarily for backlog refinement and retro meetings. It helps get the team aligned on estimations and provides a great format for retrospectives.
It is simple yet powerful to hold Agile ceremonies remotely, keep track of the discussion and action items
A small improvement would be to have a way for Parabol to include chat conversations in the summary of the retrospectives
Holding Agile ceremonies such as retrospective or poker planning
The process itself, it helps us bonding and figuring out problems with ease.
Nothing in particular, i really enjoy everything about it so far. i might start using for different meetings too.
Doing Retro's, great tool for us
This product allows teams to get on the same page in a very quick manner. As a UX Designer, I am not always sure how complex it will be to develop my designs. Parabol allows our entire team to come together and have a shared understanding of each ticket and the amount of work it'll take to get it done. I feel this tool has created a stronger connection between UX and the Development Team. We are able to speak the same language and there's been a lot less back and forth on tickets because of our Parabol usage!
N/A! For what I use Parabol for (once every 2 weeks), it works great. I'm more of a participant in each session vs someone who sets it up, so for my level of usage, the product is very accessible and helpful.
Allows us to use a shared language (of points) when assessing really complex ideas. It keeps meetings on track because we can quickly move from task to task in one platform.
The UI is simple and easy to use. The icebreakers start you off with a little chuckle, while the presets help you focus on the discussions happening during the meeting.
The limited amount of free presets for Retro. Also, the Jira integration when sprint planning doesn't alwys work and we have to manually set the story points instead of doing it through the Parabol UI.
Parabol solves the problem of organizing Sprint Ceremonies, keeping us focused on the discussions at hand rather than moving things around and keeping things organized and readable. We are easily able to list out what we want to talk about and have a simple way to know what we should be discussing through voting and grouping.
Parabol is a great product. It's intuiative and easy to use. The ability to group feedback and then comment is amazing. I especially love the notes sent out after the fact. It really reduces the administrative time in running sprint ceremonies.
Make the card size variable to the amount of text. Sometimes the text box is not big enough and scrolling is a bit clunky.
Streamlining and reducing administrative time for sprint ceremonies and meetings.
I discovered Parabol through the responsive.org community, and the depth of knowledge about self-organization and team processes shines through.
I would like Parabol to intetgrate with - or maybe one day replace - Asana for our software team.
Parabol makes our team retros easy, and supports team health in a way that really aligns and informs our perspective on that (see here:https://www.socialroots.io/focus-on-team-health)
