Great citation tool
What do you like best about Paperpile?
Paperpile is great - convenient and easy to use. I love that it can automatically change the reference style with zero effort and it can find the paper I want to cite by title DOI, link, whatever I throw at it. I reecently stumbled on a bug after Google updated - the Paperpile support team were really responsive, provided a work around and then got back to me when they had patched the software. Overall, just a stellar experience and I'll be using Paperpile for years to come.
What do you dislike about Paperpile?
Nothing much to dislike. Every now and then it'll import the citation information from teh paper incorrectly but given the vast array of different formats that academic papers come in, I find this a negligible problem
What problems is Paperpile solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick and easy referecing while writing academic papers. Allows me to focus on the actual research rather than fiddling around with references and potentially muddling them up.

A game changer for usability and multi-device working
What do you like best about Paperpile?
Paperpile has transformed my ability to reference papers, websites, books etc. I am farly tech-savvy but I find all the popular bibliography tools almost impossible to use. I simply do not understand how they work and I just end up frustrated. Paperpile is super intuitive. Within minutes I had a system that I could use, and a bibliography that I could build. I use it on Chrome (Mac and iOS), and write on Word. It is so intuitive, with pdf annotation as well. Support is responsive, personal and friendly. MY BIG TIP - sign on with your personal email, not your work email - you will want this with you for life, even if you change jobs! Bravo Paperpile.
What do you dislike about Paperpile?
Occasionally the 'search for pdf' is a bit hit and miss. But if you have favourite pdfs stored on your hard drive, you can just upload them very easily.

The best reference manager
What do you like best about Paperpile?
Paperpile is easy to use on a Chromebook with web access, chrome extension, Google Docs add-on, and an iOS/Android app. Basically, it's the only reference manager that is usable in the Chromebook/ Android ecosystem. It's also just really intuitive and does so much for you.
What do you dislike about Paperpile?
I'd like a few more features on the Android app.
What problems is Paperpile solving and how is that benefiting you?
My assignment reference lists are amazing now. Also, I can use Paperpile to manage my reading list and notes.

A fantastic tool for all of my scientific writing
What do you like best about Paperpile?
As soon as I saw my first ad for Paperpile I subscribed and have been very happy with it ever since. It is fully integrated into Google Docs, which I use for all of my manuscript and grant writing. It has a full suite of formatting options for all journals I have needed. There is also a mobile app available, so I can add papers via my computer then access them via a mobile device to read.
What do you dislike about Paperpile?
It uses space in my Google drive and some of the PDFs can be quite large. It also sometimes stops working but after reloading the browser it will work again.
What problems is Paperpile solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to be very flexible and through integration, with Google Docs I can switch between computers and operating systems. I often will work on a Linux computer at work and a MacBook at home. I have no issues with this switch because everything is integrated into a Chrome browser. Paperpile also makes it easy to share citations and PDFs with my students and colleagues.

Great experience with Paperpile
What do you like best about Paperpile?
Paperpile allows seamless organization of academic articles from the web with Google products, including Google docs, along with Word. I am impressed most by the time to annotation. Within seconds, I can pull an article, add it to my library, and start highlighting and writing notes that are saved indefinitely. Articles can also be downloaded and are actually already named in a reasonable way, which saves time and effort. Paperpile also does not require any downloaded app for use. It is a website that is easily accessible from any computer. The software has improved my efficiency with making notes on papers in an organized fashion and then adding citations. It is both a reference manager and a complete library of files. Anyone who has a Gmail account can easily use Paperpile. In addition, the support staff are fantastic in terms of quickly and courteously responding to questions. It feels very personal.
What do you dislike about Paperpile?
The Paperpile staff is working hard to be able to search the entire library for keywords and phrases, which is currently an option only within an article. I do not really dislike anything else. The software is the best.
What problems is Paperpile solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to quickly add files to an online library that can be accessed from anywhere. How to have a reference manager also be a comprehensive library of files. I am benefitting most in terms of ease of use and time saved for searching for and adding files to my subfolders.

Best citation manager for Google Docs
What do you like best about Paperpile?
I love that our team is able to collaborate on citations in real-time when writing a paper in Google Docs!
What do you dislike about Paperpile?
It's also incredibly user-friendly and easy to train team members in.
Recommendations to others considering Paperpile?
I sometimes encounter resistance when proposing to use Paperpile because it's not as well-known as other citation managers like Endnote or Mendeley- but not a fault of the product itself!
What problems is Paperpile solving and how is that benefiting you?
Paperpile saves one person on the team from having to gather and format all the citations when we're collaborating on a paper.
