Being able to use restrictions and calls well planning.
We can not use depots for every single day. It could be done by edding calls, but that would require a lot of attention and effort on our part.This could be built in manually.
We have around 250-300 working days a week for multiple clients that need to be planned. We work for multiple supermarkets often in the same towns/cities and its important to have them combined for that would make planning more cost efficient. However, the clients may have restrictions to their calls due to delivery of goods. Hence, the Optimizing is so important and being able to work efficient with restrictions on calls.
Many of the features are intuitive and extremely easy to use without always emailing support. Video tutorials are extremely helpful as well in answering any additional questions. When needed customer support is quick & efficient. I love the fact that I can be self sufficient with the app. The flexibility it provides in making changes to the established route is indispensable. I can alter a rout based on that driver's availability or experience.
Can't customize the delivery report based on my industry. The baseline template of the delivery report is great but being able to remove some columns that are not applicable to me would be great.
We're able to manage several deliveries each day with multiple drivers and plan our routes in the most efficient way possible. All of this is saving time, maximizing driver output and minimizing unnecessary labor expenses from poor route planning.
Our drivers now get the job done quickly & efficiently. The traffic and time estimates with OptimoRoute are the most accurate I've experienced allowing me to add more stops to each driver without overloading and provide customers with accurate ETAs for their delivery.
For the use of Optimoroute software no special technical knowledge is needed, other than the simplest knowledge of excel. The best thing is, after you import all the data, choose number of drivers and optimize the route, you are able to print routes for each driver, but even better, you can import the routes into their Google maps so the only thing left for them to do is drive!
I didnt't find any downsides of using OptimoRoute.
Distribution of corporate presents can be very challenging especially during Christmas/post-earthquake/COVID 19 times. In the year of 2020, we as a company have done it 2 times, so in order for me to best explain the efficiency of Optimoroute, I will just compare 2 exactly same processes with and without the use of Optimoroute.

Being able to plan massive deliveries is next to impossible without this software. A great benefit is being able to send notification to client so that they could track the deliveries.

OptimoRoute saved Christmas!! We are a seasonal company who rents living Christmas trees. Routing deliveries was pricey and a logistical nightmare. We brought this software in 2 years ago and had the first year ever with a 98% on time delivery rate! The old system took ages to route, Optimo is a snap! The driver app lets us stay on top of customer service and now clients can track their own delivery! It's brilliant!
Also, as we are seasonal and there is just a monthly charge we can cancel and then reactivate when needed, saving us money.
Not a 'dislike' but would love to see - photos, customer sign off of delivery and time card feature would be amazing.
If you only need to route for reoccurring services - like landscaping, etc you can sign up, route as needed then cancel. anytime you need to readjust you can re-activate and re-route then cancel again!
Gives us the best routes for saving time, energy and gas (so more eco too!) Being able to track drivers live we can stay ahead of customer service.
Very accurate locations and easy to import customer orders.
Monthly payments are a little high for a small business but definitely make up for it in time savings

Allows me to track my delivery drivers and log delivery times automatically
Importing .csv and routing multiple drivers within minutes.
Multi-select polygon tool functionality does not work as expected (draw over stops, assign all to driver 2, stops get assigned to driver 2)
Instead it works like: draw over stops, assign to driver 2, stops become unassigned, need to hit plan routes and make sure no other driver is selected.
It took a bit of experimenting to learn how to use this function while everything else was very easy to learn at a glance.
This software will cut down on labor hours considerably thanks to .csv importing and adhering to your specific needs.
We've had issues with our client sending the list of stops at the end of the night requiring planners to accumulate overtime as manual routing took up to 4 hours.
We have tried other Applications but each one was missing one of the following key functions:
-Importing, rather than manual typing everything.
-Multiple drivers / routes on one screen
-Ablility to route based on time window / priority, most only use distance based routing.
It would seem that routing based on time windows would be an absolute necessary function of any routing software, but this is not the case.
Exploring OptimoRoute, we have found that the projected ETAs have helped train new dispatchers on estimating ETAs for clients more than two stops ahead on a route.
We also are able to show our bosses how unrealistic it is to expect less drivers with more stops with hard data and re-rolling routes with different routing methods (by time or by # of orders).
