Omnitracsis a great TMS. Overall i can feel and can say that is has helped our company grow. It is not only a TMS but a great community of people (Shippers, drivers and carriers) willing to help each other.
I'd like the webpage to be more customizable per each customer. we'd like to have the ability to add categories, different dimensions, and labels. but other than that everything's good

With the recent merger to Omnitracs, there has been some downtime and growing pains. Also, the amount of regulation within the government has them changing algorithms and rules frequently.
If you are considering making the move to XRS, make sure you have a team ready for implementation. I would also urge you to look at the vast offerings that Omnitracs has in their other software as well. You can pair and partner their other services together to meet any and all of your transportation needs.
This solution has helped us comply with state and federal government regulations wile preparing for the transition in 2017. We are ahead of the curve with technology and have a great insight into our fleet operations and statistics.

The inconsistent performance coupled with a slow response technical support team has created a monster to support by management.
OmniTracs XRS belongs to the lower, more economical tier of ELD's that I think are all plagued with similar challenges. You may save money with startup on this tier, but be aware of high admin costs. I would seriously consider OmniTracs IVG product, or similar ones from other companies.

The interface is pretty easy to look and to figure out where you want to go within the website.
The Omnitracs server has all kinds of issues and sometimes it could take you hours to be able to run reports. Whenever they push out an "upgrade" or "update," there is always something else that breaks so it seems like there's no true testing before release.
The biggest problem that we have is that it doesn't always work well and I think that it might be part of their servers that's the issue. Our client manager is not efficient and is very late on anything that we've asked him to accomplish for us. Moving from XataNet, we lost our client manager that was fantastic and it was very disappointing. Calling their Customer Service department doesn't really do anything to help because they can't seem to figure out their own issues. If you don't have another software that you're trying to integrate with, it might be okay but they liked to point fingers at the other company even though it ended up being on their side.
We use XRS mainly for logs on our handheld devices but also to keep track of our trucks. We are a past client of XataNet and chose XRS because we have handheld devices instead of units mounted in our trucks.
There are a lot of different features and options to choose from to be able to manage fleets and drivers.
The layout of all their software is a nightmare. Their organization and layout when it comes to the back-end and management software is atrocious.
Painful setup process, painful management, lots of features once you get to understand it.

Nothing. It does the same stuff all the other options do. Some of it would be useful if it worked, but there is no functionality they can add that will make the horrible website performance tolerable.
The site literally times out on me at least 5 times Every. Single. Day. If I was the person in charge of website performance at Omnitracs, I would be ashamed. Whoever is in charge of that is overpaid if they are paid at all. They need to go back to flipping burgers.
Use something else. ANYTHING else.
None. Absolutely none. I get more problems from Omnitracs XRS than I solve. I'd rather go back to paper logs and guessing where my drivers are.
I liked that i could see where my trucks were but that wasn't why i purchased the equipment. I purchased the equipment to send my mechanic updates as to when and where my company vehicles were at mechanically. However the system does not really do what they said it would do. After reaching out to our representative, it was to much of a bother to help us. Then the Contract is Binding for the entire 36 months regardless of whether you are happy or not. Their is absolutely no buy out option to get out of the service. So Beware of signing the contract, the only concern for omnitracs is that you send them your payment, even if the service does not work like it was explained it would.
Their is no access via a mobile phone that works. The website is clunky, and most of the features do not work. The personal working for Omnitracs have one interest that is make sure people pay, even if there system is not and can not do what they said it would do. The Attitude from them was very aggravating.
DON"T DO IT!!!! The 36 month agreement is binding for the entire 36 months there isn't even a buy out option even if you are not satisfied with the service. They do not feel as if providing a good quality service is necessary at all. Just make your payments it doesn't matter if the system works or not.
None the GPS equipment doesn't even work, it was supposed to update every 6 seconds. Sometimes it would take up to minutes to update, frequently it wouldn't update at all for multiply minutes. Logging into the website from a mobile device it virtually impossible at times.
