Easy to use for basic needs, but extremely powerful for more advanced uses. Extensive image libraries available, and easy to create your own that you can share within your team or group. Near endless formatting and styling options. Some automation capabilities, but we haven't yet found a use case for them. By far the best graphing/diagramming tool available for MacOS or iOS.
Sometimes adding lines to a graffle cause the lines to snap to other objects unintentionally. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a setting to control this behavior, but it hasn't been a big enough issue to try and find out. Other than that, nothing comes to mind that I dislike about OmniGraffle.
We use OmniGraffle to diagram process flows and entity relationships. OmniGraffle allows to quickly model these, and once final designs are done, create images suitable for insertion into our documentation. The stencil library allows us to save our most used object types, and easily share them among the entire team. It's also very simple to add custom objects to a stencil library.
I have mainly used OmniGraffle for designing workflows, visual proposals, and forms. I've also used it for simple image creations to be utilized for marketing and website projects. I am a longtime user and love it. I have not tapped into the power of it, but it it does what I need with ease.
It can feel complex at times. But that is more a matter of me not taking the time to truly dive in further.
Highly recommend it. It is an investment, but well worth it!
Probably #1 is being able to create proposals in a graphical way that has proven to be well-received time and time again.
It is very straightfoward and easy to create complex diagrams with ease.
Nothing, it is a really great tool which I love using.
It is mac only.
I'm trying to create diagrams to show structures and organisations of things, e.g. org charts, flow diagrams.

OmniGraffle is super easy to use and at the same time has a lot of advanced features for making great drawings. I also love all the file formats it supports!
While OmniGraffle has functionality to create tables, it is not possible to merge cells. This sometimes makes working with tables in charts a bit annoying.
I'm using OmniGraffle to create charts and graph drawings for presentations and research materials.
Omnigraffle has really good design elements that will allow you to communicate complex technical concepts in a compelling visual format. The software allows you to easily drag and drop different components of the figure. The figures come out looking very professional. The software allows for easy export into many different formats, including jpeg, png and pdf.
The user interface is not very intuitive even if one wants to create a very basic figure. Though the tools provides many options, one typically has to navigate multiple menus to find the feature. The price point is high, and there is no academic license to use the software.
The price point is high, but if your job involves making technical graphics on a daily basis, it may be worth the cost.
Draw figures for technical papers and presentations
The OmniGraffle software is the great replacement for Microsoft Visio, It is essential tool for diagramming in a software platform ( OS Mohave) that did not have a great standard program like Microsoft Visio.
Some of the most useful stencils have to be added via sources external to the software, so there which may include some paid memberships to those sites, so this must be accounted for.
This is a great product that has a lot of robust features. Accounting for the need for additional stencils not built-in may be additional cost, but there are plenty of default stencils and templates to proceed effectively.
The ability to create diagrams and mind maps has been essential to supporting business planning and capturing the current and future of the IT infrastructure.

Omnigraffle has tons of nice features. The ones which I like most are
1) Ease of use without going through user manual.
2) Keyboard shortcuts.
3) Infinite Canvas.
4) Export Panel.
It's ease of use is what I like the most. Learning curve is shorter.
Some of the features are not that straightforward to understand. Documentation could be better.
I would highly recommend to anyone who uses Visio and is looking for a better option. I would also recommend this to any one who writes lot of design documents where he/she needs to add lot of diagrams to explain it better.
I am mainly using for day to day activities like - drawings needed for project design documents, diagrams needed for customer facing documentation etc.

OmniGraffle is straightforward to use, and its interface can make anyone very comfortable with making insightful image collages, templates or complex image layouts. The built-in tools are intuitive and work perfectly in an Apple Mac OSX environment. Finally, there are many format options available for exporting the jobs, which enables template sharing across different software chains.
OmniGraffle can be a bit pricey for personal use, and I recommend the developers make an affordable plan for students that do not need to use the platform very often.
Everyone in my office uses Apple Mac OSX hardware, and we were looking for software that could work perfectly on this platform. Our search finished when we discovered this beautiful software called OmniGraffle.
